Merrell  Encore Ice 5 Shoes - Women's

I have fibromyagia, spondylitis and in chronic pain 24/7. I cant express how happy I was to find shoes that felt like a "warm hug". Living in Florida we do get a few cooler months. and the fur lining is soft enough that you dont need to wear socks. I plan on using them as my everyday outdoor shoes. Im normally a size 8 and they fit nicely, but not snug. If you prefer your shoes to fit snug, I would suggest going down half a size. Of course with this sale i went crazy and bought 2 pairs. The oyster color is so sharp with my blue jeans and I was very surprised to find the color Hazel to be better in person. Just a side note; it's a light beige/tan. I am wow about both. I would have liked to buy the tan, but it was sold out. Im waiting for the black and bracken to go on sale. I hope Merrell will consider making these Encore Ice in other colors. Id buy them all. Perhaps a pastel sage green, pastel light pink, pastel baby blue color to match blue jeans, indigo blue, and bone or stucco white. In the south we wear light colors all year round. Thank you Merrell for enabling me to be able to walk again, with no pain. Im in heaven.

I had the 2's but the tread finally wore out and this is the replacement. I still have my older ones so I'm able to do a side by side comparison. - They have definitely gotten narrower. In the picture you can see a significant difference in width. I am hoping these will stretch laterally as Merrell says. I am disappointed because I feel like this has happened with nearly every shoe I've tried to replace. - There I definitely more arch support in the older one. In fact, this was a shoe that I bought to help me through plantar fasciitis. That arch support is completely gone so I'm glad the plantar fasciitis has resolved. - The sole otherwise feels the same. - The treads have changed as you can see f on the pictures. - The style looks like it is trying to imitate another brand of clog rather than stick with a more unique look. In summary I would have rather had a new pair of the 2's, but we will see how it goes.

Both these 3 winters ago! Wear then all the time indoors. I love them however, the inner soles needs to be replaced and there’s no replacement. Merrell this is an opportunity for you! The shoe is in perfect condition except for the inner sole. Curious if this shoe can be washed?

I really wanted to love these shoes. I’ve worn the Encore Ice for decades because I loved the thick lamb fur lining that keeps my feet warm .Unfortunately that shoe seems to be gone. The fur lining is skimpy and almost missing around the top.

Ordered a black pair same size as my 4 other pairs over the years. Huge! Label says "42" as others but made larger, slide off my feet. Took picture. Not thrill. Manufacturer change?

I'm 70. I don't have time or life left for orthopedic shoes. Merrell Encore Ice 5's were my instant answer to comfort, stability, safety, dryness, warmth, fit, and compliments.

I have purchased many pairs of Encore Ice over the years and this is the first time I have been terribly disappointed. They are so narrow and short now. There is no insole at all just a fleece lining. I had to tear it out to remove it so I could put in my orthotic which I have always been able to do in past pairs with no problems. That removal left pieces of the foam backing from the fleece liner on the inner shoe bottom so now I guess they are not returnable which is what I would immediately do. These used to be my favorite cabin shoes for years. Buyer beware I guess.

I think these are my fifth pair of these wonderful real sheep-shearling-lined shoes. Warm, comfortable, & good support. I wear them in Fall, Winter, & Spring. Attractive understated rick rack trim on this version. The wide width fits perfectly, but I really wanted a pair in gray and they did not come in the wide width. I got size 8 instead of my usual 7 1/2 wide. They are a little too long but otherwise fit OK. Would appreciate more colors in wide width. The gray is beautiful and goes with a lot of my clothes so I’m keeping them. I just won’t be able to wear them when I must walk long distances—they’re a bit too long and loose in the heel.

I just received two pairs of Encore Ice 5 slides - 7 1/2M and 7 1/2W. I needed to see if I could wear them with my orthotic, so, as I have done for more than 10 years, I went to take out the insoles and put my orthotic in to see if the shoes fit. What to my surprise, I found the insole is not removable even though the specs say they are. They were glued. Why did Merrell do this? I will have to send the shoes back. I am VERY disappointed. Stupid design change! Maybe i will have to buy an old version of the shoe. Without fixing this problem or lifting the insoles out of the glue prior to sending them to customers, I cannot recommend this product.

I have this shoe in 2 colors! I LOVE THEM, so comfy and warm.
