Weak fabric
Great wool hiking pants initially, but the material on the backside is thin. Its now see through and has runs and they are only 2 months old. The over-layer on the front side is strong, but stops at the shins. Then it’s thin material in the shin area, with little protection. Great idea to have wool outer pants like they do in Scandinavia, but poor design. It’s not really designed for active outdoor wear.
wears fast in the rear fast
I love these tights, bought two pairs over the years, but they were so fast to wear in the backside, to the point they are see through. Makes me so disappointed as I have lots of Smartwool products, from running socks to long underwear to jackets, dress sweaters and no other products have shown such wear so fast.
No drawstring
Perfect amount of warmth for cold hikes or cold morning horse back riding. The waist is slightly too big, wish there was a drawstring so I can make it tighter and then I would not have to keep pulling the pants up. The zippers at the ankles are nice too.
My go-to Winter pants
Great fit, warm, wind resistant. Great pockets too. I wear these most days during to winter-great for winter walks and hikes, and as a base layer under shell pants. I have multiple pairs.
Too short, fall down
Too short and they slipped down when I move. If I didn’t pull them up they would’ve been at my knees by the first block.
Best winter leggings for me
I wore these the very next day - which was a windy one. I was perfectly comfortable and warm.
