Why, North Face?
It’s ridiculous that Northface didn’t give the pocket in this water carrier a quarter of an inch more so that a standard size iPhone could fit in and close the zipper. There’s no reason why they didn’t plan for people to use it as a phone carrier as well as a water bottle carrier. Very dissatisfied that I can’t use this for the two things that I carry most often.
Small zip pocket, but fits big bottles
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Usual TNF high quality. Feels durable. A big ole 36 oz. Yeti Rambler fits! Small bottles are secure thanks clever design - gravity keeps bungee straps taut. Zip pocket is too small for larger phones.
Fantastic Bottle Sling
Love this. It's a bit expensive but worth it imo. I also will say I bought this at a great discount- it was on sale in a North Face store and when I signed up for their email updates, I received another discount. I might not have bought it without the discounts. The pocket is a bit small but functional and very handy. I usually carry a 40 oz hydro flask bottle in it and it fits snug but works perfectly. I use the zipper pocket to put a couple hydration powder packets in there. With my large bottle, it's a bit too big to fit anything that isn't relatively flat, but with a smaller bottle I'm sure I could squeeze in more into the pouch. The strap is a bit odd to adjust at first and is more comfortable when it hangs low, but that's not an issue for me. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.
Extra happy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just received and was worried that the bottom wasn't enclosed. But see that it fit my Stanley tumbler so I don't get water sweats and I LOVE! Strap is comfortable. Getting more colors.
Finally!
I’ve been waiting for a bottle carrier like this for ages. I take a Nalgene 32WM everywhere, and they’re cumbersome at best. This bottle holder is perfect for hikes, dog walks, errands, and I can loop the strap over my passenger seat headrest since my Nalgene doesn’t fit in my cup holders. Keeps my water bottle from rolling around the truck and I love that it can hold an energy bar, some spare cash, and a key. The pocket also fits my Tom Bihn wallet perfectly for longer outings.
Useless pocket
I'm not sure what they intend to fit in the pocket. After putting the waterbottle in I literally couldn't fit anything in the pocket. I tried keys, phone, wallet, granola bars, dog bags, etc. I don't mean all at once, I mean it would not zip shut with ANY of them in there. It would close with a single granola bar, but it took effort to close the zipper and will definitely rip after a dozen or so times forcing it shut with a single clif bar. The bungee pouch will fit small items, but I don't trust it to hold anything important. Even just adding somewhere to clip a carabiner would be useful. Do not buy if you want it to hold anything but a water bottle.
Phone doesn't fit...
Sadly, my phone didn't fit in either pocket and there was no way to secure it. I have a larger phone, a Samsung Ultra. I love the idea of this little bag for quick hikes but wish the pockets were just an inch or two bigger. Returning with a sad face because I thought it would be perfect for my need.
Love it
Love it! Picked it up last week and its my ‘go to’ for long walks in Discovery Park, or anywhere. Holds a variety of water bottle sizes, my phone, keys and ID, and dog bags. What more can you want?
Great if you're traveling light
I like going for long walks and wear a hip bag across my chest. I use a karabiner to hang the bottle from one of the straps. It's not ideal but you work with what you have. This looked like an interesting upgrade. I was glad to see I could fit a 36oz yeti water bottle in this. The strap is a little rough. It would be nice if there was a padded part so it didn't scratch the side of your neck. The pocket is pretty small. If your water bottle is smaller you might be able to fit your phone into it. I have a large water bottle and a big phone (iPhone 11 Pro Max) so it did not fit. I used the stretchy outer pocket to hold my earbuds case and the zipper pocket for house keys. The best thing about this is it allowed me to easily drink water without having to stop. I could swing it around and then place it on my side when I'm done. The downside is that with my hip bag I can carry a lot more. This pouch is good for long walks where you don't need much or if you have a backpack with no good spot for a water bottle.
Works like a charm for its primary purpose
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it for toting around a water bottle during warm weather conditions. It holds a range of bottle sizes and is very comfortable to wear around town. An improvement I would like to see is making the compartment area stretchy on the side and having two zippers on the compartment so it can be closed in either direction. It is a little difficult to have anything flat (like a phone or wallet) in there because of the curvature of the bottle. I would also like to be able to have the zipper close on the key holder side and let the keys dangle outside a little because it's difficult to close with a bigger key ring.
