I blew out an earlier pair of your shoes (see pics) and now I have a new pair, an extra size larger, and I'm finding them again very hard to put on and too tight across the ball of my foot

Runs large, tongue not padded

Normally, I wear a size 11 Salomon (two other previous models, including the X Ultra 3). This model runs large, especially considering you're probably not going to be wearing thicker socks for running. The size 11 had an extra half-inch of length in the toe box. The other major problem is that the tongue has absolutely zero padding, which causes the shoelaces to dig into the top of your foot. I love the bungee cord style shoelace, but IMO it requires a padded tongue to be comfortable (like on the X Ultra 3).

First time in Salomon’s and I’m sold! Broke them in walking the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan to DUMBO. They were extremely comfortable. Great fit and true to size. Received lots of compliments that day. I’ll be buying another pair soon!

Purchased the HYPULSE for a trip requiring some rugged terrain. I wanted something light and comfortable but up to the task. I've never purchased a pair of shoes online because one, I'm such a shoe critic and want to be comfortable and two, I rarely believe the hype of a review (I do see the irony with me writing one). I was very pleased with the comfort of the shoe from first fit, through the hike and using the shoe for a casual wear out and about. I'm a new fan and will be back for more.

I liked this shoe from the first time I put it on. The fit is true to Salomon sizing. I ordered and received Men's size 12. I tested it with a 5 mile run on non-technical trail. It worked great. Good traction without feeling slow. I am using this shoe as a middle distance racer (<40K). This shoe isn't as sturdy as ones I use for longer distance. The only minor drawback is the quicklace system doesn't have a tuckable shoe collar instead of the tongue loop.

Bought these for general walking and comfort. Read a few online articles about the off road abilities and water resistance aspects of the shoe. Unfortunately this shoe is the opposite. Slight splash and your toes are covered in water. Walking across wet grass results in a heavy shoe and water gets in everywhere. It’s comfortable in dry conditions but terrible off road.

Good trail running show with problem

The shoe is extremely comfortable, and is a great companion on the trails. However I have used to on rough terrain with lots of sharp rock and one of the tracks unglued. Anyway I applied shoe glue and this should work. Otherwise really nice shoes, especially in how nice they to your toe nails, really gentle, can’t say the same of other shoes. Keep going!

Lite and comfortable.

This is my second Salomon purchase and after two years of "not running" due to the pandemic I really was expecting a lot of leg pains after a 3k run. I was surprised at how lite and comfortable HYPULSE is. I got an easy run and made it almost to 4k. I'm really glad I made that purchase. I am looking forward for more runs and adventures with this shoe.

shoe top of faulty material and craftmanship

holes wore thru the toe box on the outside of each shoe. I wear these shoes to the gym only 2-3 times a week for an hour or so. My shoes are only 1.5 years old. The treads look hardly worn. Very disappointing to see the tops of this expensive shoe already falling apart. Of course, the problem started just after the 1 year warranty from REI.
