Sizing Notes
Allbirds fit true to size for most customers. If you have wide feet or prefer a roomier fit to accommodate toe splay, we suggest sizing up. If you are in between sizes we recommend sizing up for all styles except for Tree Runner styles (size down for those).

Best walking shoes ever
I just finished a three-week trip where we walked over 30 miles on various city streets. I alternated between my Tree Flyers for vigorous walking and my Tree Breezer flats for more casual walks. I was with three other people who all got blisters with their various shoes. I didn’t get a single blister; they were comfortable; they did not smell; and I really cannot say a better thing about them. When I got home I washed them and my one issue with my tree flyers is they are very difficult to lace back up. I don’t want to spend 20 minutes lacing my shoes - next time I will not take the laces out when I wash them. I don’t need to shop for shoes anywhere but Allbirds. Looking forward to more colors in the Breezers! These photos show my shoes after at least 25 miles on the sneakers and 5 miles on the flats.
First time buying this brand
First time buying this brand and loved them.I recently went to Egypt and wore these walking around the desert and were not only comfortable but they didn’t make my feet hot with or without socks. Would buy again.
Poor quality! Soles fall apart quickly
After a couple months of casual wear (just light walking), the foam soles began fraying and wearing away. This damage affects the traction of the shoe, especially on wet surfaces. I did not expect such rapid deterioration from a company that emphasizes both the sustainability and quality of their products. Do not buy these if you want shoes that will last more than a few months.
What I've been waiting for!
As a woman who likes to wear dresses in this summer heat, I have a hard time accepting the fact that I should stop wearing sandals with no support. I bought these shoes to wear with casual dresses and leggings and I'm SO glad I did. We have season passes for a theme park and these shoes made me forget sore feet problems even exist. They're my new favorite shoe (I bought two already) and if the quality is good (which it seems to be), I'll continue buying Allbirds. This color, Blizzard, is popular and was always out of stock in my size (8Women). After checking often, I finally snagged a pair in my size. So if your size is in stock, go for it- don't wait!
Excellent support; midsole "shreds"
It took a few times wearing these—I mostly wear them for cardio dance workouts—for my feet/the shoes to adjust so that I can now confidently say that they are truly comfortable and supportive. I can even do moderate impact jumping in them without my plantar fasciitis screaming out at me. One functional issue I do have with my Tree Flyers is that the exaggerated, protruding back midsole, while kind of cool looking, is a bit of a tripping hazard. After a couple months of wear, I've only stumbled a few times due to this, but I would say that this was probably not the best choice for a complex cardio workout shoe. Now for the look of the shoe. These were striking and beautiful when they arrived, but, sadly, I can already see that they're not aging well. The midsole, while providing amazing impact absorption, is VERY prone to shredding and crumbling, which I discovered when I saw small white crumbles of rubber on the floor of the workout studio. The light friction on the inside and back of the shoes from my feet brushing together is clearly what causes it, because it has not occurred on the outside part of the midsole. It is not a good look, and I'm not pleased about that. Yet another downside of the midsole is that it easily absorbs dirt and scuff marks. These marks did not come off with wiping or even in the wash. I finally resorting to taking a small scrub brush to them, which did remove most of the dirt, but, bizarrely, my scrubbing turned those previously dirty areas slightly pink! I used a gentle, dye-free soap to clean them, so all I can guess is that the composition of the midsole had a chemical reaction to the ingredients of the soap. All mini-disasters and unsightly blemishes aside, I will keep wearing these shoes because 1) they weren't cheap, and 2) they do provide great support and comfort for my achey feet in a way that other athletic shoes have not. I would not order them again, however, and I am bummed that my still fairly new shoes look anything but new. In a different color than white, perhaps the dirt marks and shredding, crumbling midsoles are less of an issue.
Good Feel
I really like the feel of these shoes. I do have to use a shoehorn to easily get them on due to the fact that even though there are laces, there is no opening where the laces are located. I am also somewhat uneasy as to how well the upper material is going to hold up over time. The comfort of the shoes and the great no-slip grip is excellent on stone/pebble walkways and even morning dew on the ground.. Around the house I can wear these shoes all day and have no lower back pain, as well as standing for long periods of time while shopping. No matter if it is cement, wood or carpet floors, so far I have had no back discomfort.
Best Shoe I've Ever Owned
The comfort level, perfect roomy yet snug enough fit, materials, support on the heel, toe bed, and arch, washability, and the fact that it goes with everything I wear makes this the best shoe I've ever worn. I returned from a vacation where I had walked many cobblestoned hills in what I thought were my best shoes, only to get blisters and sore feet daily. I bought the Tree Flyer to try out as soon as I got back from my trip. What a difference in support and comfort! I try to wear other shoes sometimes but these are my go-to, especially for all day or longer walks. I took another trip overseas in September and only took these Flyers with me. Zero issues. I love them!
Not for serious runners
The shoes lack a heel lock to prevent excess rubbing and slipping to prevent blisters. The shoe strings are very slick and come untied even when one double and triple ties them. They are fashionable so I wear then to work as part of my athleisure wardrobe. My foot is very narrow. The shoes felt okay the first couple of days. After a couple of breaking in days, slippage prevented me from running in them. As a casual "go to work shoe" it's okay. On both of my feet after wearing the shoes for a full work day, the sesamoid bones became very irritated, red, and hurt. Probably because the toe box was too large for me. Not what I hoped
I like the fabric, the color, and the overall look. I like how they slide on and the feel of them generally for walking. I got these for work—I work at a gym. The laces are always coming untied, even when I double knot them. I tried jogging in them and found that they did not provide what I needed in terms of arch support or cushion. I’ve slipped in them a few times, too. I really like the Allbirds brand. I have previously owned the wool flyers and tree loafers, both of which I wore ragged. I just got Allbirds merino slippers and I love them. But these tree flyers are not living up to expectations. If I could return them I would, but I’ve already worn them to work for two weeks.
Not bad shoe, just bad for me
I have multiple pairs of Allbirds and they all fit the same. I tried this model to upgrade from the Dasher and my usual size is way too long, and the arch is in the wrong place on my foot. I went into a store to try a smaller size and the clerk confirmed that these run longer and narrower than your other models and that she too had the same problem with the arch not being in the right place like in her other Allbirds. It would have been helpful if the shoe description was clearer about the fit being different than other models. I ended up exchanging them for new Dashers, which fit great and which I love.
