Perfect Safari Jacket
I purchased the Capa Hybrid jacket for a trip to Kenya and Tanzania. I heard that morning and evening game drives were cool and that layering was a good idea. I was also limited on packing weight because of the bush planes I took within Africa, so I needed something packable and lightweight. The Capa fit the bill in every way. It had enough room to layer a hoodie under it, but was warm enough that I only needed to once. I can move easily when hiking and climbing. I thought I was buying this jacket for Africa, but it quickly became a favorite and I will definitely be wearing it once the weather cools down at home.
Can't recommend, weird sizing
My GF bought me a medium. I wear a medium in everything, and always have. This jacket was long in the sleeves, and weirdly fit well in the shoulders but was loose at the gut. Why would they design a jacket like this for those without an athletic body? So I ordered a small. It was fine in the sleeves, but too tight through the torso. Returned. There is a HUGE difference between small and medium (I am six foot, 160). You may enjoy this jacket if you've got a belly that you're trying to lose on the trail. I hate it. The hood is the best that I've found for running on a cold morning, however. Otherwise, one star. It fits that poorly.
Great 3 season jacket but not 5 stars
Like some of the other reviews say this should’ve been a slam dunk 5 star product but just a few things got skipped and it doesn’t really make sense. There’s no cinch on the hood so if you’re walking into the wind it parachutes unless you manually hold it down. There’s not much waterproofing on it. I can do that myself but for the price it seems absurd. A drawstring at the waist would be a nice to have but that may impact the style so I’m not as concerned with that as the other two points. It’s still a great jacket, but with a pretty useless hood in any kind of real weather.
Light and packable
This is a great hybrid. As things start to warm, I find my full jacket to be overkill. This jacket is perfect for spring and fall days that are just cool enough to layer up but warm enough to need extra breathability. I agree that the cut is a little weird. It is slightly narrower in the shoulders/chest than normal. The mid section has extra room. The waist is more average. I’m probably average in each area. I can feel the narrow shoulders, but they aren’t so narrow to be uncomfortable or restrictive. I only notice the extra room in the mid section when I sit or put my hands in the pockets. When I’m standing, the jacket still looks rather flattering, so nothing about the cut is too extreme.
Warm, but light. Love this jacket!
Love this jacket! Its warm, but doesnt overheat you. Its light and the hoodie/sleeves are very soft. Its one of my go to jackets. I highly recommend it.
Great thin layering jacket
Superlight jacket that works great in moderate temps on its own, or as a layer in really cold temps. Nice slim cut.
Average Hybrid Insulated Hooded Jacket
I am 74.5 inches tall and weigh 187lbs. I purchased the Capa Hybrid Insulated Hooded Jacket in size XL. On a 100 point scale I would give this item an 80. The color and overall design is nice. The overall quality is just average. The item has some small visible loose threads and fits a little bigger than I expected. The jacket is very thin and not very insulated. Please also note that the bottom hem cannot be cinched in like many other jackets of this type. The end results is a lower hem opening that is bigger and roomier than I wished for.
Weird Fit, no real world technical use
Odd fit, tight in the shoulders, extra room in the mid-section. No hem drawstring is a product defect IMO. A hem drawstring would help overcome the weird shape of this "Jacket". Stretch panel material is thin, almost see thru. Only reason for 2 stars is it's a nice looking piece of apparel (that serves no technical purpose). 5'10" 165
Great for mild weather
Comfortable fit, great for mild weather. The sleeves were really long (unusually long) maybe I just got a one off, but had to end up taking it to the tailor. Other than that small hiccup, would highly recommend for daily use.
midweight base
nice concept, would be better if insulated section covered shoulders. a bit pricey
