These shoes have made my lateral ankle bones hurt so bad! Now both ankles are covered with bruises. Walking causes an unbearable pain. I'm soooo disappointed. I don't have special feet. Never had such a painful issue in all my life 😕
Love these boots. I have smaller but wide feet. I have been trying to find a good pair of water proof hikings boots and tried several others before these ones. I have tried boots from Oboz, Vasque, La Sportiva and the fit was off for my feet. I have taken these hiking with me a few times. The waterproofing on them are legit. I slipped on a water crossing and my feet were completely dry. I love the grip on these boots. They dont feel as light or comfy as the La Sportiva boots, but they are still really good. I bought a second pair as a spare for myself and a pair for just about everyone in my family. We all love love love them.
Had mine on for the first time today, totally soggy feet!! So disappointed and going to return. Not worth the money, I’m afraid. Such a shame as they are very comfy.
I was looking for a versatile hiking boot that I can wear for neighborhood dog walks or light hiking on the trails and hills. These definitely fit the bill. Grippy when needed, solid footing on uneven surfaces, cushion for days. I was surprised by the bouncy feeling of these boots and that feature has quickly made these my favorite walking/hiking boot. They feel like a cross between a running shoe and a hiking boot. Perfect for my needs. The high top portion is also comfortable, light support, I don’t think it should be relied on for great support. Just sort of hugs your ankle and will keep debris out of my shoe. I would recommend for walking and general hiking with a bounce in your step.
I purchased these in my size (7-1/2), but they appear very large. I have compared them to other 7-1/2 shoes I own, my husband's shoes, and my friend's ladies 9-1/2 shoes. These shoes are massive on a side by side comparison. While they are mostly comfortable, I would consider sizing down a 1/2 size. I tried them on a 20 km hike with 1700 foot elevation. While hiking down hills, the shoes have to be tightened a lot at the ankle to keep your toes from slamming into the front of the shoe. While climbing up steep rock hills, I found the large size of the shoe awkward to deal with for toe placement. I'd actually like an answer from Adidas on why these shoes are made so big?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was nice and comfortable when I put it on, 1- but when I started walking with it, I felt something sharp in the heel, which I have attached a photo of. I'm sure only my pairs have this problem. Fortunately, I had ordered another pair of the same model! Also, 2- belts are sensitive and should be handled with care. I'm going to return this product and try the new pair that I received recently. Thanks Adidas
Just received these, put them on immediately and they are COMFORTABLE!! I've been looking for a pair of comfy athletic type shoe for an upcoming overseas trip. I have to order online, I ordered 3 different brands of shoes from 3 different companies, and had to return ALL of them, toe boxes were very tight. Figured I'd try REI, saw these and thought I'd give them a try. There's plenty of room for my wide foot, easy to get into, I can hardly wait to try them outside. If anything goes wrong with them, I'll update my rating.
Tried this on and right out of the box they felt so comfortable. I was pleased when I noticed that the tongue is padded! I have bad ankles and I’m hoping these will help me out during summer hikes. The quality it seems awesome and the outsoles are grippy!
I've been wearing the Terrex Freehiker GTX to walk my pup in dewy grass, rainy and snowy days. These shoes are perfect in keeping my feet mostly dry and not swampy had I worn running shoes. (You just can't prevent water from going into the shoes from wet pants' legs!) If the shoes are dried prior to the next use, the waterproof/water resistance capabilities are great! If not, then your socks will be a tad damp. The soles are grippy to boot! So hiking and walking in grass/dirt will extend the life of the soles. They will wear out sooner if you only walk on concrete and asphalt.
I literally walked through deep puddles to get out to see seal pups playing in the water at low tide, perfect grip on water sodden seaweed and socks as dry as I put them on.
