HOLY GRAYL!
i have the v1 steel & v2 plastic versions. v3 Ti = just perfection! lite & tough. one of the only water purifiers on the market that can filter viruses & remove most of the nasties in the water you will encounter in any adventure. process is straightforward & simple. no tedious pumping or sucking thru a straw with your face in the muck. they have finally achieved the holy Grayl!
Peace of mind is priceless
Recently used my Ultrapress on a backpacking trip in WV, it was so easy to use and couldn't believe how it totally removed any taste. Of course everyone in my group wanted me to filter their water for them once they tried mine. My Ultrapress Ti included a tightly woven mesh bag which I used to pre-filter the water for debris. It was also great having the peace of mind that my water was safe to drink. Can't wait to see if they make a titanium version of the Geopress. I brought a spare filter on my trip but never needed it.
Bullet Proof
The Ultrapress joined me on several occasions this past summer where water was plentiful but not necessarily safe to drink. Having the Ultrapress to provide clean drinking water kept me on task and hydrated.
Titanium Prepping Tool
The Grayl Titanium Ultrapress Filter Purifier is a commendable addition to the realm of water purification devices. Its sleek titanium construction not only ensures durability but also adds a touch of sophistication. The Ultrapress technology is a standout feature, offering a rapid and efficient filtration process, making it suitable for outdoor adventures or everyday use. The unit's ability to remove contaminants and pathogens effectively, providing safe drinking water, is a testament to its high-performance filtration system. While the initial investment may be higher than some alternatives, the long-term benefits and quality of filtration make the Grayl Titanium Ultrapress a worthwhile investment for those prioritizing clean and safe hydration.
As a seasoned hiker who's
As a seasoned hiker who's seen my fair share of gadgets and gizmos meant to make the backcountry a little less daunting, I approached the 16.9oz UltraPress® Ti Purifier - Covert Edition with a healthy dose of skepticism. After all, how many times have we been promised the moon, only to end up with a glorified paperweight? This, however, was not one of those times. First off, let's talk about the "covert" aspect. In an era where even the wildlife seems to have a social media presence, the idea of a purifier that doesn't scream "I'm here!" with garish colors or bulky design was refreshing. Its sleek, understated look made me feel like a hydration ninja, blending seamlessly into the Colorado wilderness. The real test, of course, was its performance. Colorado's backcountry doesn't play around—its water sources range from crystal-clear streams to suspect, stagnant ponds that seem to whisper, "Go on, I dare you." The UltraPress® Ti Purifier laughed in the face of these challenges. With a few presses, water that looked like it could host a new form of life was transformed into a nectar so pure, even the mountain goats looked jealous. Its ease of use is where this purifier shines. There's no need for a PhD in Hydrology to operate it. Simply fill, press, and drink. It's like having a magic wand, but instead of conjuring rabbits, you're summoning safe, drinkable water. And at 16.9oz, carrying it was a breeze—my backpack barely noticed the addition, and my back was grateful for the lack of added strain. But what truly sets the UltraPress® Ti Purifier apart is its reliability. When you're miles away from civilization, and your only company is the occasional overly friendly squirrel, knowing you have a dependable source of clean water is comforting. This purifier didn't falter, handling everything from icy mountain runoff to less inviting water sources with ease. In conclusion, the 16.9oz UltraPress® Ti Purifier - Covert Edition is not just a tool; it's a game-changer for backcountry hikers. It combines efficiency, reliability, and a dash of stealth, making it a must-have for anyone looking to tackle the great outdoors without succumbing to the weight of their gear or the fear of dubious water sources. Whether you're traversing the rugged landscapes of Colorado or embarking on an adventure elsewhere, this purifier is the companion you didn't know you needed. So, here's to the UltraPress® Ti Purifier: the unsung hero of my latest hike, ensuring my stories about the backcountry are filled with awe, not giardia.
Great for bikepacking
I haven’t actually used my new Ti UltraPress yet, but I’ve been using the GeoPress for a couple years on my bikepacking adventures. I wanted something a little smaller and less weight and as a bonus, I can use it to boil water. I used to use another light wieght squeeze filter that did the job, but it took forever. I can fill all three of my water bottles with the GeoPress in less than 1.5 mins and keep the GeoP filled for a forth option. I liked the GeoPress so much I bought a second one for my wife and we use them as our go to water bottles while overlanding and camping. I’m sure the new GeoPress Ti will not disappoint.
Awesome water filter
Absolutely love this press! Carried it on an 86 mile AT hike last week. Worked flawlessly. I wanted to be able to added electrolytes and such to my water and this was the perfect solution. Fits in the same Zpacks mesh shoulder pouch a smart water bottle fits in also. Heavier than a sawyer, but worth it in my opinion.
A Total Letdown from Grayl: Avoid at All Costs!
I recently purchased a titanium water bottle from Grayl, and it has been nothing short of a nightmare! First of all, let's talk about the design: it's titanium, yes, but unbelievably impractical! The cap is so tight that every attempt to open it feels like a workout session. It's as if you need a degree in rocket science and the arms of a bodybuilder to simply take a sip of water. The materials might be top-notch with its titanium build, but what’s the use if the usability is zero? The bottle is extremely cumbersome, heavy, and honestly, it doesn’t do anything more special than what a regular plastic bottle would do—except frustrate you. Now, onto their customer service - calling it 'poor' would be a compliment. I reached out to Grayl’s support team hoping for some assistance or a possible solution, only to be met with responses that were not just unhelpful but outright rude. Their representatives were dismissive and seemed to have no interest in actually solving customer issues. It was as if every query was a huge inconvenience to them. In conclusion, save your money and your energy. There are countless other water bottle companies out there that offer better products and a customer service experience that actually respects you as a consumer. Grayl, with their nearly unusable titanium water bottle and appalling customer service, is definitely not worth your time or money. Avoid at all costs!
Best press so far !!!
To this date I have had ever press that Grayl has made and this new Ti Ultrapress is definitely my favorite !!! It offers so much more than just a filter. It is definitely my main go to press !!
One of the best hydration
One of the best hydration choices in my opinion on my search and rescue team utilizing it both in the 72 hour configuration as a cooking device and also making water for the entire exercise and or rescue. I find it is not one fluid motion to purify the water, almost feels as if there's too much air resistance in the filter, not sure if it's because of the one-way filter for the drink mix. I'd imagine it would be a pain if the surface you're pushing against is unable to take multiple repetitions if you pushing potentially pretty hard. All in all my favorite back country device for its many uses. I could deal with its quirks for what's done for me so far.
