Broke on first use
The buckle on one of the straps broke upon the very first use. Was using to simply attach a pair of snowshoes to a backpack, nothing heavy at all. Definitely would not reccomend this item, the durability is extremely poor.
Standardized Clips
Amazing that the clips aren’t standardized to work with others of the same size.
piece of mind
Perfect for what i needed. I rigged a fail/safe strap for my dogs retractable leash. This way it wont hit the ground and scare or chase my dog.
Not much to it
Works great for attaching my climbing helmet to my pack. Affordable enough, and you get two of them. They are lightweight but the buckles still seem pretty solid. Should hold up just fine for my needs.
Newer not always better
I bought this to attach my new camp chair and Tarptent poles to the outside of my pack. My REI only had these. Ultimately, I returned these. What I wanted was like the ones I've been using for years: the kind that does not have the buckle. I wanted the ones that had the friction lock--like I have on a belt. I ended up sacrificing my older, longer straps by cutting them to size. I'll buy longer ones when I find them.
They makes things hang from your pack!
They're straps. I strap stuff on to my back. They work great. Buy some for yourself so you can strap stuff on to your pack.
Inconsistently fails to stay taut
The buckle frequently lets the strap slip and does not consistently maintain tension. I used these to stabilize bike panniers by wrapping it around and cinching it; they kept loosening unless I wrapped the tail end back around the strap.
Shorter than advertised
Be aware, that they advertise this as a 40 inch strap. In reality it can only wrap around something that is about 35 to 36 inches. Otherwise, it is just as advertised.
Convenient Length
Convenient length and width way to adjust. Easy to use clip.
Small but migthy
Great again for external gear, my pack has both sizes.
