Terrible zipper

I haven’t had a chance to use this jacket in the snow or rain, but I’m sure the Gore-Tex coating will keep moisture out. The problem with this jacket it that the main zipper has really big teeth and doesn’t glide easily — it takes some force to zip it up. It also doesn’t match up at the bottom, and thus is really hard to get started. This zipper also doesn’t appear to be weather proof, although the pit zips appear to be (pit zips also are much easier to zip). I have spent over 50 years hiking, backpacking, skiing and snowboarding, and I have never seen this kind of zipper on a quality jacket (it’s like a cheap, sleeping bag zipper). Really disappointing for a jacket that cost $519 on sale! One last word of caution is that the fabric is fairly loud, which may be a function of Gore-Tex. Otherwise, the jacket fits well and the colors are beautiful. The fit is really flattering.

Great!

I love this coat! I live in Southern California so I haven’t used it as much as I would have liked, but when I have it’s been awesome. Used it for rain and when it was oddly cold for here. I like that I can unzip the underarms but haven’t needed it, probably helpful when doing winter sports!
