Most Versatile Board
Been riding the Riva for a few seasons. Ride the newest model last season and absolutely loved it. It has held an edge in some seriously sketchy conditions, rode through crud like it was nothing, kept be face up on ice, and gotten me some epic turns in pow. This is the most versatile board. I started riding this board as an intermediate backcountry rider, and would now consider myself advanced. This has been my primary all season board and I think it’s def helped with my progression. Makes me feel more comfortable winding steels, knowing my board can do what it’s supposed to do. Highly recommend to the novice and expert alike. For reference, I am 5’7, 155 lbs, and ride the 151
My Go-To Board!
This is my one board I would grab if I had only one to choose from, which I did when I went to Alaska. This board never lets me down! It’s lightweight for skinning up the track and big mountain objectives while also being strong enough for over 45° slopes for some smooth turns down the powdery couloirs. This board got me all around Thompson Pass in variable conditions for the month of charging hard! Love this board!
Great Big Mountain Quiver Killer
This aggressive board is, and continues to be, very nearly a quiver-killer for me. Over the last four seasons, I've ridden the Riva through basically every condition imaginable—chunder, boilerplate ice, dust on crust, hot pow, and yes, deep powder—and have found that she very much excels at almost all of them. Two important notes: the Riva needs you to really DRIVE her. If you're not an aggressive rider, she won't obey. If the pow is deep (like, more than 6" new snow), she wallows a bit. But overall, the Riva serves both experienced riders And those looking to grow their skillset in all conditions.
I LOVE THIS BOARD
I work as a splitboard guide, and this is my go to board for days where I'll be traveling through a variety conditions and styles of terrain. I've been on the Riva for four years, and I have no complaints. It is a directional twin, rocker tip and tail, and rides everything well. It charges when it needs to charge, and is playful when I want to be playful. I'm 5'5'', 135, and I generally ride a 152 - 154. I've been riding the 151 Riva, but I will be sizing up this season. If you are a strong rider, I recommend sizing up to account for the extra weight you will have with a touring pack on!
All Mountain Charger
This board does it all! From charging through chunder at the ski hill, holdings its edge while committing to big lines, or being playful on deep pow days. This board has been my trusty backcountry steed, and a reliable board when I'm not sure what conditions I may be getting myself into, I know that this board will be able to handle it.
Perfect for Patagonia snowpack
I'm using Riva's splitboard in Patagonia, the snow conditions here are pretty complicated and icy. This board is very versatile on the way up and down, I totally recomend it! It's playful and realiable.
Versatile & playful
My favorite splitboard from Weston so far - super playful and chargy. I love it in deep powder, on choppier terrain and on groomers. Overall versatile & playful :)
Your ride or die board
This board is like that best friend that is always down for the adventure. Doesn’t matter where or what or when, their ready to go. I’ve had it in the grossest New England conditions, and I felt solid. I’ve had it in fluffy pow and it was still a ton of fun. Nimble in trees, stable in ice. Not the absolute lightest on the climb, but holds an edge on the crappiest skin track. And Westons customer service is phenomenal!
CHARGER!
my go-to! absolutely. This thing was designed to charge big lines. It handles chunder and questionable snow really well - and sails on deeper days. My board duo is this and the Revel Split --- Revel is more fun for slower, smaller, deeper turns... but the Riva, you just open up and fly! Give this board some strong legs and you'll be surprised with what you are capable of holding on to :)
Awesome all-rounder
Love this split, it's my go-to for pretty much everything. Great turning radius, pretty stiff and chargy, holds an edge on the up - it's got it all! The one thing I'd say, is that the nose doesn't always love floating on the deep powder days, especially if you're wearing a heavy pack. If that's what you're looking for, I'd say look at a powder specific split or size up!
