comfortable but runs a full size small
This top is incredibly comfortable, if you get the right size - plan on going a full size up as the built in bra band is super tight. I attempted to try on my regular size and couldn't even get it on. Once I figured that out and got the right size I wanted to wear it out of the store, it felt so good. Also, I'm happy that it's less low cut than show on the model. I'm pretty modest and feel adequately covered, even after going up a size (no sagging fabric, etc). Yes, the bra inserts move around when you first put the top on, but they're easy enough to adjust once you get the hang of it, and stay in place once on.
No Butt and No Boobs? This is the suit for you XS
I got this and went back and order another of the same in a different design. I LOVE IT! I have had the same Ralph Lauren tankini for 14 years because I have not been able to find one that fits properly for my body. I am 5'4" 105 lbs athletic build with no butt and no boobs, this thing fits like a glove and it looks great! I got the XS because most of the time the tops have far toooooo much bra and material to actually go in the water without it blowing up. Again, this is perfect and I love it! Cannot wait for the others to get here. Thanks for thinking about the not so well endowed chickies!!
Fabric is polyester now, not nylon. Runs large.
Online description specified nylon (like most swimwear), but the tags say polyester. I called Carve Designs and they confirmed that they switched from using nylon to polyester sometime last year. Nice style, very very cute strap design. Fit is very loose through the torso - again cute - but did not feel sufficiently secure for swimming etc. I am normally small or medium, wide shoulders and hips, flat chest, and the size S definitely ran large on me. Will return due to fabric and fit uncertainty.
Love the design but disappointed with the fit
The colors and designs of these tankinis are gorgeous (I got the Moss Haku) but I'm disappointed with the fit/sizing. Based on reviews I got a Large, although I am usually always a Medium. I am 5'4", 126 lbs. The large was way too big. So then I got a medium. The medium basically fits but the band is a little tight and the fabric is clingy. I'm fit and have an hourglass figure but having given birth to twins 10 years ago, I have a little belly roll, like a lot of women. Tankinis usually have the advantage of being a little loose and swingy, and covering up the belly. This one isn't loose enough, it clings to the belly. It's a shame because otherwise it would be so comfortable. I also got the swim shorts that go with it (in my usual size) and they are a dream, cute and super comfortable. I wish they would redesign the top to make the band less tight, and use a little more fabric to make the whole top a little more loose and swingy. Or at least use two layers or use thicker fabric. However if you have a flat, toned tummy (like I used to..) you are going to love this!
Swim Suit Has Floating Removable Molded Cups
I purchased this tankini because I had to return to REI the previously purchased one piece bathing which was too short for me as I am long-waisted. This tankini's "built-in shelf bra with removable molded cups" does not remain in place and the individual cups move when putting on the tankini so that the cups are not where they should be. The piece's pattern is not too exciting, but I plan to keep the tankini as it is more comfortable that the one piece bathing suit I had to return.
Nice Tankini Top
This tanking top is comfortable and cute. The removable bra pads are apparently troublesome for some, but not for me. I have many athletic bras with the same removable pads. All in all it’s a nice top that runs true to size.
luv it!
Luv the colors & athletic fit! (I wear a 32DD bra, 64 in tall, 118 lb, petite bones.) I ordered a med as the small just too tight for the girls. I do think it's a little low in the front for me but the small was just too tight ( I probably could've used an in-between size.).
Runs VERY small
I purchased a Carves Design rash guard and needed an extra small. I then ordered a couple of tankinis. I could only get one of them over my head. The size charts are off by at least two inches. I then ordered a small. It's still a bit too small but the medium is probably too big. It's frustrating when one company has totally inconsistent sizing.
Runs small
This is a really nice top, but I ordered the Medium since my chest measures 35 inches, and the band on the shelf bra is far too tight. I guess I will exchange for a Large and hope it isn’t too big.
Love the fit
I'm fairly small chested and love the style and fit of this tankini. The removable pads were even a bit big, but I replaced them with pads from my old swim suit and it fits great. I didn't feel like it runs small. I usually wear a medium swim top and that's what I purchased - 5'7", 125lbs.
