Small AC2 pack I just needed it

This pack is just what I needed, rugged and simple, I will be using it for 3 seasons tatra mountains day summit trips, and propobly for regular light hiking in rainy and snowy conditions, for rough winter approaches I will still be using undefeated Naos 45 that has solid straps for equipment.

Simply the best

Ok, so no joke, this is the best pack ever. The fabric is extremly solid, water proof and the fit on the bag is just perfect. The pack has no unnsecessary pockets, features etc. It's the most simple bag pack I ever had. Using it every day I'm outdoors.

Durable, Light and Simple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great day pack for just about any alpine adventure. I've used it guiding alpine rock, ice and everything in between and found it to be quite durable. It's waterproof nature makes for reliably dry gear after mountain weather, and the material can get dragged over rocks and through chimneys with minimal marks. As a 30ltr pack, it's hard to overload it to where the minimal carrying structure would be uncomfortable. I added some home-made compression straps to the sides to be able to cinch it down when not loaded up. A dynnema/bungie system like that would be a good additional feature on the pack, but overall I'm quite please.

Dissapointed. Love the design, but poor durability

I was really stoked to finally get my hands on a Alpha FL. I had hopes of seeing this bag through many alpine ascents, snowy descents, and although simple in design, I was initially sold on the robust and durable nature of the fabric. However, after about 3 months of light use, on my very first alpine climb this bag began to tear along the bottom - it appears along a seam. Very disappointed given the bag promotes a trade-off in features for durability, and it doesn't even have that.

Great improvements to a good pack

The previous version of the Alpha 30 FL was a good light weight pack and now with the additional loops and new internal pockets the pack is perfect. By sliding a standard ski strap through the loops it creates side compression and the ability to carry skis which for me increases its 4 season usefulness. While the pack doesn't have all the padding and comforts, the weight saving and pure function of this pack make it stand out.

Most Bomber Bag for Scrambling / Alpine Hiking

I bought this bag in an attempt to become more fast & light with my hiking and I was not disappointed. The bag is super light and comfortable on long trips while still being burly enough to handle rubbing up against rocks, trees, ice - pretty much anything! I used it on several scrambles this summer and the waterproof roll-top was especially helpful when bad weather rolled in. Even if you're just using this bag for your rainy commute, the roll-top proves to keep the contents of the bag bone-dry. All in all - this bag has outperformed my expectations and is an essential piece of gear in my collection.

Minimalist alpine pack

Extremely light, but still very comfortable to carry even semi heavy loads. I like that the top is not a roll closing, so that you can decide yourself whether you need "completely" weatherproofing. It is really easy to attach axes, and the elastic wepping easily carries your crampons or a jacket. The material is quity sturdy, but I have some small holes in mine after some weeks of abuse. Maybe you could make a hole to a water hose above the inner closure, so you still have a very weatherproof pack. My exeperience with this bag is so good, that I now bought the 45 liters to cragging.

Versatile waterproof pack, even for skiing!

I first ordered this pack for use with camping, day hikes, and climbing. As of late I have use the pack for one entire week you're in Vail. The pack has proved extremely versatile, waterproof, durable, and intuitive in regards to the functionality of the pack. The pack is held everything that I need including multiple water bladders emergency rescue equipment and even extra layers for variable conditions. Although this pack is highly recommended for climbing I, I have found it extremely useful in functional for Alpine skiing. The pack has one main entry in the top that can be easily open and accessed via and included rip-cord-like-tag on the top, which then allows access to the waterproof membrane which can be rolled up and clipped shut. The front zipper pocket is extremely handy for snacks medication sunglasses keys and other personable's that need to be quickly accessed. The pack is designed to be unclipped, and removed extremely quickly and proved successful via the many lift lines in chairlift mounts that took place on my trip.

This bag is great but the color is inaccurate

The photos make this bag look black, in person it it not. It's grey, not even dark grey, this product photo is misleading. Take a look at my black day pack for a reference,

Sturdy, versatile pack

This is an excellent pack for climbing and all-round use. It can carry the essential climbing gear and carries a heavy load remarkably well. It has also been my daily bicycle commuting backpack and it handles the rain well. As to it's durability, I was recently in a cycling accident and was thrown off my bike at a decent speed and landed on my back, with the pack still strapped on. I was shocked to see no tears or visible scratches in the fabric and after a quick hand washing it looked as good as new!
