Happy with both versions

Love this cooler! Both the generation 1 and the g2 updated stay-open version. We upgraded to the newer stay open design for our children; otherwise, we would have just stayed with the g1. TBH, the magnet on the g1 design feels stronger, and we liked that we didn't have to worry about it being closed because it quickly shut on its own. But because we are a family of 4 and frequent the beach and do other weekend trips, strategic loading, and allowing the children to get in and out made the g2 stay open design a better choice for us.

3 Day Weekend - Drink Cooler

Took the Hopper on a full 3 day trip to Yosemite. Pulled in Wed. 10am and left Sat 10am. By Friday it was ice water slush, but okay since only used for beer and drinks (food in main cooler). Hopper was left in tent vestibule entire trip, days were just over 90 and nights were low 60s high 50s. Did the job well. Would of done better if we had more time to preload/cool and reup ice after initial melt. Expect 48hr of solid ice as long as the items are cold going in initially. *Tip* leave a finger in-between the magnets and remove any excess air when closing up. Happy w/ purchase

Kept everything cold and carried convenient

Setting reasonable expectations as this is a soft cooler and not expected to compare to the hard Yeti 35 we have, this bag did very well. It is the perfect bag for a day at the beach, lake, etc. There are three carrying methods and all have their place. As far as the cooling, it handles a southern summer day on the beach with all drinks/snacks remaining ice cold all day, leaving ice remaining. There is plenty of room for a packed day on the beach and it carries easiest with the shoulder strap like a beach bag. It is much more convenient than the hard Yeti we used to take. Just pack it according to the 2/3 ice guideline and it will do you well.

Not worth the money

As expensive as this product is you would expect it to keep ice for at least 5 hours. We took a 4 hour road trip and the ice was completely gone when we arrived at our destination.

Great cooler, subpar delivery

The cooler is great, as expected. The delivery, not so much. We chose expedited 2 day shipping so it would arrive for a bday. The website and confirmation email note a date of delivery. However, we learned the hard way this date does NOT account for the two day processing the order takes before it is shipped. When we called we were told that was in the fine print and is often missed. It should probably just be accounted for in the big red date noted next to the shipping when you select the shipping method. We were not refunded for the shipping. Food for thought in the event you need the product by a certain date.

Nice day cooler for me!

This bag is way lighter than any hard cooler. I purchased this bag after reading many reviews of the lid supposedly being very hard to work with. I did not have the same issues. Yes the lid stayed open but as lid is designed. the lid can only open a certain amount, not a Huge opening, but wide enough to get items in and out. I use it with a large Yeti Ice and a bag of ice and it keeps my stuff cold all day. Have not used it for multi days, as that was not my purpose of purchase. Multi day trips I have a Yeti hard cooler. The strap is well made and the top magnetic and fold down closing is nice.

Just “Meh”

I was really excited to purchase this cooler with a magnetic closure. I watched friends struggle with Yeti zippers for years and decided I wouldn’t spend a bunch of money on a cooler that was a hassle to open and close. This is definitely easy to open and close in contrast to the zippers, but with that being said, I’m disappointed with this cooler and wish I’d just saved my money or purchased a different brand/style. I don’t think it holds much for the cost and the closure system causes narrow storage space in at least the top 1/3 of the bag. I’m already researching different cooler options.

Great for traveling breastfeeding moms

It’s able to keep 5-7 liters of breastmilk frozen solid through my flight and fits in the overhead compartment of the Boeing 737-800 planes flown by American Airlines. It’s an incredibly helpful tool as a working mom with a baby at home and has allowed me to extend breastfeeding for much longer now that I have a reliable way to bring it home safely.
