Love this bike....from an ex bike racer
Awesome bike! Ex bike racer and wanted a versatile performance ride for gravel roads and pavement at a lower cost. Super pleased with how well this bike rides. Tire size is fantastic with a cush ride but it also gets up and goes very quickly. Love this bike! I've always had great products from the REI brand from their soft goods to hard goods. Highly recommend this bike. Love all the built-in attachment points for racks, panniers, bags, etc. Really well done!
First Gravel Bike
This is the first bike I've owned in probably 20 years, and the first gravel bike at that. I test rode a few other bikes before this purchase to make sure drop handlebars felt alright. While they take a little getting used to, this bike has been pretty forgiving to someone who hasn't ridden in years. From the more experienced bike folks I've spoken with, it's got great components for the price and will take care of me as long as I take good care of it. So far I'm happy with it after a handful of 15+ mile rides. Will update if anything changes.
Great for the price.
Great bike for the price. Got it on sale for about 1,500 before tax, and I couldn't be happier. Components are good for the price range, the hydraulic disc brakes came set up great and work fantastic. Not the lightest bike in the world, but still feels quick and agile, while also comfortable. The wrap job on the bars could have been better, but that's a cheap and easy fix. Wheels were easy to go tubeless in, and the included tires so far have been great for hard pack gravel and a bit of single track.
Reach is a little long, overall great value
Picked this up a week ago, so my experience with it is limited. First impressions are very promising, great spec for the price. One thing I will say is this bike is a tad more aggressive than I would like for an all day rider. Pay attention to the reach, the medium fits like my M/L endurance bike from another brand. The bike accelerates quick and turns seem stable, even high speed on the road. Not sure why REI is discontinuing this particular model, but it provides great value for the dollar.
Perfect rural area bike
First Ride was wonderful, upgraded from a Mountain bike to this Gravel road bike and love the difference. Handles great on the dirt roads and on paved roads the gearing and feel is much faster and more comfortable. I found that the majority of my miles will be on paved roads but require at least 2 to 3 miles of gravel roads to get there. I really like the drop down bars, allowing for more positions on longer rides and also into the wind the lower position cuts the wind resistance. Shifting was easy and comfortable, I purchases Shimono dual pedals with clipping and standard pedal. I wanted to keep the jump on the bike and ride to a friends house while still wearing tennis shoes option but when going for the training ride I wanted that full use pedal stroke. I recommend this bike.
Get It While You Can
Solid gravel bike. Love the color, mounting options, carbon fork and 2x10 drive train. I've taken this on some intense single track and it's held up great. Shame it's being discontinued.
