I've had Voyageurs before and was pleased with the years of hiking comfort and stability. The new ones have consistent quality issues and I just returned the fourth pair. Toe stitching doesn't match, toe bumper misaligned, and toe too loose, even with tighter lacing. Most alarming is the loose ribbon trim on the left shoe, which could catch or snag on a root, branch, or a vehicle brake or clutch pedal. Even at a sale price, this is not a good deal.
I've been buying Keen Voyageurs for over 10 years now. Hands down the very best light hiking shoe out there for anyone needing a deep heel and a wide toe box. I've visited a hiking resort in Southern Utah several times now and, every time someone tears up their feet and gets desperate for a solution, the local outdoor shop sells them a pair of these hikers. They keep them stocked in bulk! In ten years, I have never, ever had a blister or sore feet and these shoes are always have excellent grip in all types of terrain - from the jungles of Uganda to the red rocks of Southern Utah - they're always perfect. Keen PLEASE don't ever stop making these shoes!
I've awaited this delivery anxiously as I've purchase 3 pairs of different brands of shoes in two months but no good. So when my Voyageurs arrived I said a silent little prayer as I opened the box. I was immediately impressed by the stylishness and the light weight and when I got them on and laced up my feet did a little happy dance. I can honestly say that these are the only shoes that have truly fit me for years and I'm very very happy. I was able to walk comfortably with them right out of the box. The heel is snug and supportive and the toebox - well it's perfect. No more pinched toes for me. Thank you Keen I can't tell you how delighted I am with my new voyageurs,
There was literally no break in time required. I hiked Camelback Mountain in AZ as well as numerous other trails in Scottsdale and Sedona. The shoes grip, provide support and are comfortable. Even in the scree I felt the shoe offered far more traction than a running shoe or trainer. Shoe runs ginormous. I ordered a 7.5 because that’s what I were in all of my training shoes. I could fit both feet and a snack into 1 shoe. So I ordered a 6.5, but immediately panicked that they would be too small and ordered the 7. I basically had all of the inventory at one point! I kept the 7. With a thicker sock it was a perfect fit.
I bought these because I loved my KEEN boots. They started wearing through at the heel within 6 months. Per other reviews, KEEN's manufacturing has gone downhill since moving their production out of the US a few years ago. No wonder my boots lasted daily wear and farm work for 2 years and my Voyageur's are falling apart after only 6 months. I'll be purchasing other brands in the future. Really sad because I love these shoes, they just aren't lasting.
I had a severe adverse reaction to the antibiotic Levaquin 10 years ago that left me barely able to walk due to severe Achilles tendon pain. I saw many doctors, did physical therapy, etc. etc. but it was my new Keen Voyageurs that literally got me back on my feet and walking again (and literally saved me my life). I've purchased at least 5-6 pair since because they are literally the only shoes I wear (gotta have one clean pair for "dress up"). Now I see they are impossible to find in size 7. Oh dear Keen, please please please bring them back. Nothing else fits the same or feels as good as these. Please.
I bought this shoe in my normal size. I buy plenty of Keen. The toe box is way too tight. It doesn't loosen up. You think it will but then its too late. So this shoe sort of curls your toes in. And, you don't notice it too much until you've worn them some. Then its too late to return them. A pretty shoe that I had to throw into the garbage. An expensive shoe to do this with. Looks good, but a major thumbs down from me. Length of shoe is correct; but they are skimping on the ""ceiling"" portion of the toe. That will curl your toes down and in. Now I'm afraid to buy anymore Keens. Its rather uncomfortable.
I had to unfortunately write a negative review about my latest Presidio purchase (shoe is TOTALLY different inside from all previous Presidios) and now something has changed with my beloved Voyageurs too? At least a half size too short. I purchase a pair of these shoes every year. I have this shoe currently in both 9.5 (for thin socks) and 10 (for thick hiking socks). So I ordered a new 10 and my big toe touches the end? Please, please, please Keen, get your act together! Hoping a 10.5 does the trick, because this shoe is the only shoe that allows me to continue hiking after messing up my 5th metatarsal.
After my exhaustive efforts in trying the new Targhee EXP Waterproof (only to discover they make my feet too hot), I decided to order a pair of the Voyageur from the good reviews and seemingly cooler design - even though they're not as aesthetically pleasing as the Targhee EXPs are. I ordered a 7 since I typically wear either a 6.5 or 7 (mostly 7). Unfortunately, the 7 was too small for my narrow feet (not long enough). Additionally, I have the same concern this shoe will not breathe enough like the Targhee EXP since the mesh has a layer of fabric behind it. So I returned it, and decided to go back to trying the Arroyo II (since it's now back in stock in the size I now know I need!).
My husband and I both wear Keens hiking shoes. He wears his every day for work (a rancher) and has a pair for every occasion bc it's the ONLY shoe he can wear. He has his "good" ones, his motorcycle pair, his work pair, his everyday off the ranch pair! It's hilarious. I wear them for hiking when camping, but I also have a pair that I wear to walk on the ranch daily. These are by far the best shoe made. We have recommended them countless times. you won't go wrong. I prefer the Voyageur, but he wears the Targee. They run wide because of the roomy toe box. I own and wear both an 8 1/2 and a 9 depending on the walking I'll do. I wear the snugger ones for long hikes with a lot of downhill.
