Versatile jacket

Great jacket. Perfect weight for 50-20 degree weather. It is amazingly waterproof. I’ve walked my dog several times in the pouring rain and I stayed dry. Not what I bought it for, but a nice surprise! I love the amount of pockets, the hood is very functional. The length is perfect for me- covers my hips and butt to keep me warm on morning walks. I am 64” 180 pounds, I did get the XL. It fits perfectly if you like some extra room for layers. Which I do. The ONLY thing I don’t like is the zipper is kind of stiff and sticks out at the waist. Otherwise the most functional jacket I’ve ever had. I have not got to test it skiing yet, but soon.

I LOVE this jacket!!

I bought this a month or two ago in purple. This jacket is not only ridiculously light, but warm. It's been my go to jacket. The past 10 days I've been camping in the PNW and 35°F morning have been comfortable with this jacket and a wool sweater. It's not noisy and the outer shell is soft. It does a great job of keeping light rain off. I also love the amount of pockets you get from this jacket. I hope they keep making them. I meant to buy another in black, but I see the options are dwindling. I'm 115lbs petite (small chest) and the XS is the perfect size. Fitting, but can layer a shirt and sweater in it.

Winter hiking jacket

My new favorite winter hiking jacket! It insulates just enough and breathes well. Beats the old fleece plus windbreaker setup. I agree with a previous reviewer that the sleeves are a bit short, but no dealbreaker for me. It was a windy morning in the mid 40s when I wore this jacket hiking, with just a thin wool base layer underneath. Stayed comfortable the whole time, uphill and downhill. However, it is not warm enough to spend time just hanging out. It gets cold when you stop moving. Love the zodiac purple color!

SO COZY!!!

I bought this 2 weeks ago for my trip to Glacier National Park last week. It was the perfect layering piece under my shell on the rainy days. I wore it over a tank top and it kept me perfectly warm in 40-50 degree windy weather while hiking. It’s super light weight, fit in my day pack when not in use. It fits true to size, I usually buy a small in jackets and this size fit perfectly but I wanted an oversized fit for more coziness and to cover my bum so I bought a medium and it fits exactly like I wanted it to, just slightly big. I definitely recommend this jacket!

The Only Outerwear You’ll Ever Want to Wear!

This may be the perfect jacket. It’s soft, warm, quiet, breathable, water repellant, lightweight, and quick to dry. It has perfectly placed pockets and the dark blue/green gray color is gorgeous—my friends are already threatening to snatch it up, haha. This jacket is great for all occasions! It’s spring in Wyoming, and I’ve worn it a lot since buying it a couple weeks ago for everything from backcountry skiing and climbing to running errands and hanging around the house. I actually look forward to having an excuse to put it on. Runs small; I usually wear a size medium in all things and I bought this in a size large and it fits perfectly—not too loose, not too tight, and longer to kinda cover the hips and bum for more warmth.

Great Spring/Fall

Great Jacket. Versatile. Mine came without a pocket inside as well. Simply emailed a pic to Mtn Hardwear (Columbia). Got a credit to my account that was more than enough to pay a tailor to sew in an inside pocket. Could not return as it was end of season and it was the last blue one in Canada in my XXL size (6'2", 240)

Best cross-country skiing jacket!

Highly recommend! I live in Alaska — I looked all around for a jacket that would shield me from wind and be breathable while keeping me warm when being active in cold temps. I mostly use it while cross-country skiing and skijoring. It is also great year-round while out on walks or hiking in the mountains. My only complaint is that things easily fall out of the breast pocket if I’ve forgotten to zip it shut. I’ve put this jacket through a lot and it’s my favorite. Hope you are still making it when I wear this one out.

Warmth to Weight Ratio 👍

This jacket is unbelievably light for the warmth it provides, a fantastic shoulder season jacket. It is soft & comfortable. It's a great addition to your hiking gear if you need a layer for windy & cold conditions above treeline during the summer and shoulder seasons. Great but not perfect. There were a few things that could be improved upon. The description on REI & Mountain Hardware AND on the tags say the jacket has a drop pocket on the inside. It most certainly does not. Either change the tags or sew in a pocket. Also Pertex is not that water resistant. A light mist for a few minutes will bead off this jacket but it will not stay dry for long. Don't rely on it as rain protection. Also the sleeves are not long enough for MY liking. They do not cover my watch but I do have longer than average arms. I would be really aggravated if I had paid the full 200 for this jacket but I waited for a markdown on a discontinued color (red). The jacket is comfy but not for 200 dollars. Wait for a sale or coupon, I got mine for 75.

Great jacket

I initially bought this jacket for winter mountain biking in the northeast, but have also been using it for winter hiking and will probably use it for other winter activities. I love that there are 4 decent sized pockets and a hood. It has a bit more insulation than my fall bike jacket which is just 1 layer. So far I’ve found it to be comfortable, warm (with layers underneath) yet breathable. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase.
