As good as their full-length tights
I have two of the Janji Groundwork full-length tights, and they are my favorites. So when I saw these up, I snagged two pair - Batik Amber & Ocean/Midnight Block (great colors!) - for warmer-weather workouts. The material is hefty but extremely comfortable, and it is warm but not hot. The beefier material gives excellent support for the thigh muscles. I wear a medium (32” waist) and it is snug but not compression-y tight. The length is just right as a shorts-length. I wear a lightweight (polyester/lycra) thong as underwear (regular briefs chafe around my legs), so I am not dependent on the Janji to keep everything together, even though these do not feel loose around that area. The fit overall is snug enough that the way-too-stretchy waist tie is superfluous, but there if I need it. I like that it ties on the outside, leaving the inside of the waistband smooth all around. The pockets are a great plus; I can fit everything I need. I wish one of the two pockets on either side were smaller, like they are on the full-size tights, as they would fit small items like a key or earpod case more snugly.

I wanted to like these so badly...
I was hoping to wear these tights in and of themselves, with nothing underneath - liken to running shorts with a built-in liner or road cycling bibs. I'm comfortable with both of those respectively. Visually and fit-wise, these Janji tights more closely remind me of my bibs, which I'm a-ok with since the chamois provides adequate, visual protection for the nether regions. With these tights though, the fabric is so incredibly thin that I wouldn't dare wearing them in public for fear of someone calling the cops on me for indecent exposure. Even though I got the right size (based on the chart), after trying these on at home, I was mortified to see just how exposed I was. So easily I could see the granular outlines all those particular features down there. No built in liner or cup to keep it all visually *together* or family-friendly, so to say. I'd legit feel more comfortable walking outside in my SAXX underwear than these tights; at least then folks wouldn't be seeing the specifics of what's going on down there. I can't wrap my head around this design choice because, by and large, these tights are actually pretty comfy. The material is cool to the touch, which I'm sure would feel great in the summer. I *really* liked the various pockets, had lots of potential. Personally, I don't own any undergarments outside of boxer-briefs so it's far from ideal trying to wear those underneath. I tried. Sure, it helps with the exposure problem, but it's wild uncomfortable and results in lots of seams running all over the place underneath. Wasn't a fan of that attempt. So, if you're ready to bring your own briefs to pair with these tights, by all means, these could be a neat option for running. Alas, I so badly wanted to like these tights. I'm hoping Janji makes adjustments to their next iteration of their running tights. If they can solve this problem (could just be a *me* problem, TBH), I'll gladly jump back onboard and rock their tights for my running trips. Until then, HARD pass for me.

Spring/Summer/Fall half tights

I like them. Great pockets, good fit. No issues with riding up or anything, probably since they are right at the 8" length (may bother some, but no different or worse than 3" split shorts). I use them for trail running mostly, and appreciate the pockets, especially for runs without using a vest to carry items like a phone. Material is lighter, so definitely not for cold weather, and yes, you probably do need to wear the right underwear with them, or be quite confident, they don't have a substantial front liner. You either like or don't like half tights, I happen to like these ones as one of my recent favorites.

Almost Didn’t Buy These…

I’ve tried other brand’s half tights and these are by far the best-fitting, most comfortable, and had the smartest storage capacity. I almost didn’t even try them on, let alone buy them, because I read another review that said they were too revealing. They are tights folks, not shorts. Yes, the outline of your stuff is going to show - that’s normal. No different than cycling bibs or triathlon suits. If you have any doubts go try them on, and I’m guessing you’ll love them as much as I do. Looking forward to many marathon long runs and marathons in these Janjis.

Incredibly Comfortable & Light

These are easily the most comfortable half tights I’ve ever run in. I’d been wearing a couple older pairs of non-Janji half tights for years, and couldn’t believe how light these were when they arrived. The material is really comfortable and doesn’t get heavy on rainy or warm days like other half tights I’ve worn. The pocket design on both legs is great for carrying keys, gels, a phone, etc., so these will definitely be my new long run half tights. The dual-pockets makes it really easy to stash what you need, but they don’t weigh you down if they’re empty.

So comfortable

These Janji tights are so comfortable that they feel like second skin. The two large thigh pockets on each side are awesome—I can put my iPhone Max and keys in the pockets and forget about it. No bounce on runs. These also look great. I don’t worry about over exposure of private parts—tights are tights. If someone wants to stare at my junk at the gym or out on a run, that’s their problem. I’m 5’10”, 170-175 lbs, average size thighs and the medium fits me fine.

Moar Tights for Men Like This!

I’m a huge fan of running tights both in hot and cold weather. It’s always kind of a challenge finding nice fitting, comfortable AND functionality in a pair of men’s running tights. These have all of that. I can bring everything I need for a long trail run in these. One note, and not even a real drawback; when using the side pockets to carry water, the water tends to heat up quickly being in sunlight and up against your body. Insulation on my bottle will solve that… these lovely tights didn’t do anything wrong!

Marathon worthy

I was looking for a pair of running shorts for my upcoming marathon. I saw these and and was intrigued. So I bought these and became hooked after my first run. The fit is amazing. Some tights can be a little too tight on the sensitive areas but not these. The tights don’t ride up or down even when you overload the pockets. The pockets are something that I can’t praise enough. Two pockets on each side and a massive one on the back. I ran a half marathon and and full marathon with these. Even after 26 miles they performed outstanding. I carried an entire change of shorts and shirt in the back pocket and had my phone and glasses in my front pockets along with snacks and my wallet. I won’t be wearing any other shorts except these for my marathons. I bought another pair to have another pair in a different color.

Great tights for when you need lots of pockets!

So many pockets and I love the material. The one main issue I had, even though the size was right, was that they kept sliding down. The drawstring is made from stretchy material which was a little too stretchy to cinch them up effectively on the run, but once I got them tight to keep them up, they were great. I'll definitely keep them in rotation!
