My daughter and I took this camping in Payson, Az and it rained one of the days. We stayed dry! The setup was easy, solid tent construction. I like how the tent poles were extra strong. With the rain cover on the tent lacks ventilation. But, I did like the privacy and height clearance.
Have used it a couple times since getting it a few months back. As with all tents: Can fit the number it reports to sleep but I always buy up (2 person for solo, 4 for me and wife, etc…). The 6 fits two cots and dog with plenty of room to spare. Extremely easy to set up and take down and the fabric and zippers look to be good quality. Love the cathedral style design…can stand up and even stretch a bit (I’m 6’ tall). Would love a few more pockets or a compatible loft to clip in but, with all the room, bringing a storage organizer is no problem.
Bought this to upgrade our old Coleman family tent. Set up and take down was easy and fast with two people, the only tricky part for us was the height. I think it could be a one person set up for somebody particularly tall. It rained during our trip and the fly kept us nice and dry and the water rolled off the fly well. 4 stars for the lack of windows. There are two doors on either side to help with airflow but we would have been cooler with windows. Super spacious for our little family of three.
Good tent for families. We use it on multiple day rafting trips. Be warned, this is not a tent easily setup by one person, I can be done, but it’s extremely difficult.
I have not used the tent yet, only set it up in the yard to ensure that all components were present, undamaged, and to get a feel for just how big it is. The tent is very spacious and tall and can easily accommodate a family. The materials used all appear to be high quality, however, I think larger and longer stakes should be used since the tent is so large any wind is going to really test just how well it has been secured. Also, a full complement of stakes should be supplied to match the number of guy points. Lastly, the stuff sack is so small, it is not worth even trying to get the tent back in.
I bought this to replace a BA Big House 6 and am going to return it. We can get 5 of us in the old tent, this is really a four person tent. The doors no longer have flaps to open and close for ventilation or privacy and no vestibule other than the smallish one on either side. Seems to be made well enough and the vertical walls are nice but having three kids we need the room.
Returned another and got this one. Simple design fits 2 air mattresses with space to chamge etc and stand, 2 doors and breathable but warm. Got footprint too. easy set up to figure out (though tall so id need two people).
I recently used the Spicer Peak 6 on a 10 day road trip where we would be camping some of the nights. The tent was easy to set up and take down, and we had plenty of space for 3 adult (me and my 2 sons). We had some light rain one night and the rain fly did its job. I am very pleased with this tent.
This tent is great. The setup was easy and the tent poles felt heavy duty. We were able to fit a queen blow up mattress and a dog bed insides, along with some bags with enough walking room. Kept us dry from the rain and morning dew Can take a minute to put it back in the bag but otherwise everything fit.
This is my second Big Agnes tent(Copper Spur 2 previously). I decided to purchase a car camping tent for cooler long weekends in Florida. I wanted the Bunk House 6 but, I couldn't find the footprint for it. That's where this tent came in after careful planning and research. Setting up, I find that Big Agnes tents are easy to set up with color coded poles and tent grommets. I read the other reviews about needing two people to set up and I was worried. I realize that if you aren't really tall it is difficult to set up by yourself. I for one am tall and it wasn't that much of an issue. My only complaint with set up is trying to get the rainfly over the tent. Other than that it was fairly easy for me. Inside: room and spacious. Used this tent for a group meet up and had a friend share the tent with me. There was plenty of room for 2-3 more people as long as you don't have a lot of gear. I would say this is perfect for a family of four with a decent amount of gear. Tear down: Just as simple as setting up. My only issue is the bag. I was able to fit everything in there but, I feel like the bag could have been a bit bigger. Maybe a bag similar to the Bunk House 4/6.
