Love them!
I haven't had a pair for so many years that I have nothing to compare them to, but they're perfect for me. They naturally become a part of you. They fit perfectly in my smaller sized hands. They've saved me from slipping on icy snow and mud this spring hiking in Sibley State Park, Minnesota . I've recommended them but my friends don't think they need trekking poles.

Not reliable.
I am in the 120-140 pound range and these do not hold my weight when needed. The middle section collapses when using them on steep downhill grades. Extremely disappointing and potentially dangerous. My previous Leki poles lasted over a decade and literally thousands of miles, these didn't make it through 4 short hikes.

Not Sustainable

This is a revision of my earlier "Happy at First" review. Since losing the DSS tip and returning to the US, I have found it nearly impossible to purchase replacement tips for less than half the price of purchasing a new pair of poles. REI does not carry these tips, and with shipping and tax, ordering from Leki will cost $43+. Plus, Leki will not ship to Louisiana, where I need them to be shipped. I could just order a whole new pair of the poles from another company online for $99 with free shipping. Due to the difficulty/impossibility of obtaining replacement parts, I do not recommend this product. Sadly, mine will likely end up in the trash bin, as they are no longer useable.

Happy at First

I was initially very happy with these trekking poles, as I ordered them to walk the Camino de Santiago. I had used a much less expensive pair of a different brand last year just to see if I liked using them after hiking without poles for decades. Turns out, I really liked them, but was interested in these for shock absorption and cork handles. The problem I encountered halfway through was that not only the rubber tip, but also the end piece completely came off while I was walking in the rain through an area with a lot of water. I brought extra rubber tips, but not the end piece, and I was unable to find an end piece to purchase along the way, rendering one pole useless for the remainder of the Camino. When I tried to use just the remaining intact pole, I found this unbalanced approach made my back hurt, so basically had to put both poles into my pack, adding weight and no poles to use for the rest of the journey. Now back in the US will be looking for the replacement parts, but it was so sad that these failed me on such a long journey. I will give them another try, though.

Buy the ones with out the anti-shock

So I didn't realize you have to keep the baskets on the poles or else the small pin holding the tip on falls out (I guess the baskets protect it from getting hit by rocks?). So the tip of my fell off mile three. I don't like baskets on trekking poles, I don't find it useful and it's just extra weight and something else to catch stuff. Also these don't come with the hard surface tips, you have to buy them separately. However, the tips from my previous poles fit on just fine. Otherwise, nice poles. Lightweight, easy and quick to adjust.

Excellent trekking poles

Excellent set of trekking poles. The snap locks are great and the adjustment knob doesn't require another tool to adjust the tightness of the poles.

Would Recommend

These are my first pair of Trekking Poles and they did not disappoint. They are easy to travel with, adjust, and use. I found that they increased my stability on rocky terrain and supported my joints.
