The shoes received are not new

I recently purchased a pair of shoes for my son in July, and while the initial experience was a bit disappointing, there are some positive aspects worth mentioning. The shoes arrived promptly, and my son instantly fell in love with their lightweight design. He found them comfortable and perfect for his everyday activities. However, after less than a month of normal wear, the sole of one of the shoes started to detach and separate from the upper, making it unwearable for any kind of physical activity. I had to go through the process of returning the shoes. I appreciate the REI's responsiveness and their willingness to address the issue promptly. However, my son really enjoyed the comfort and lightweight design of the shoes, so I decided to give it another shot and made another online purchase of another pair for my son, and unfortunately, I'm quite disappointed with the product I received. The shoes were advertised as brand new, but upon opening the package, it was evident that they had been worn before. The soles showed signs of wear, the insoles were slightly discolored, and there were minor scuff marks on the fabric. As a customer, I expect to receive products in the condition that they were described. The fact that I received worn shoes instead of new ones is disappointing and leaves me questioning the quality control of this seller. I will reach out to their customer service to address this issue, and I hope they can provide a satisfactory resolution.

200 lb, 40 mile a week runner loving these Rebels!

I have never had a better fitting shoe. Literally the most comfortable thing I have ever put on my feet. Right out of the box. Supportive in the arch, super cushion. I have serious Motions neuroma, and these are a dream for short runs. I haven’t run longer than 8 miles at a time in them, as I weigh 200 lbs, and not sure they could stand up to more. My size is 11.5 wide and they are form fitting to my foot, standard 11 shoe / 11.5 running shoe. These are incredibly light, 243g vs 294g for Nike Tempo Next% and 297g for Adidas Boston 12, all comps. More comfortable than either of those, not as much forward spring.

Bouncy and quick daily tempo runners!

I switched from a pair of Hoka Cliftons to these after a ton of research. It's my first pair of NB and not my last! The change in my average mile was more than a minute almost immediately! I wanted a "super shoe" foam WITHOUT a carbon plate, and this was one of the only options on the market. The makeup here - no plate, great foam - makes for a VERY fast and comfortable tempo runner that can comfortably do up to 10km with no issues. Any further than that and I'd think about a different pair, but for what I need, these are perfect. I'd buy a half-size up if you like some room in your shoe - these are tight-ish.

feels good but doesn't last

I agree with most that these shoes are like walking on clouds but they just don't last. I have had these shoes for less than 2 months and am having to replace them. The soles have worn down to the point where the indention under the heel you can touch all the way through the shoe. If this shoe would have lasted it would have been my favorite but 2 months just doesn't cut it.

Comfy, roomy, & springy, tho orange is too bright

Love pretty much everything about this shoe's attributes (e.g., light weight, sock-like snugness, roomy forefoot (wide size), springy cushioning) except this particular color, which is a far brighter neon orange than appears on the website (think orange highlighter)... It's just a bit too loud for my taste. My only other quibble is the tongue, which is a bit too short and non-gusseted, so I have to hold it tightly when sliding my foot in the shoe and pull/fuss with it a bit afterward. Overall this particular shoe was a no-go for me, though I kept others with more a modest colorway.

Tried these at a demo and loved them. Got a pair recently and it was a mistake. 25 miles in and my feet are killing me. Went from running 2-4 miles a day to barely making it 1. Laces are way to short if you want to heel lock. Switched back to my old shoes with 400+ miles on them.

Uncomfortable Sneaker

I’ve only purchased New Balance sneakers for the past 10+ years and this is the first NB sneaker that is very uncomfortable. It feels like it is made of hard cardboard. It looks great, but not an every day sneaker.

Love the FuelCell Rebel v3

I loved the new FuelCell Rebel v3 shoes the minute that I took my first running steps with them. While incredibly light, it is well cushioned and provides good bounce. It feels so much sturdier than the Fresh Foam X shoes that I used before it. It is perfect for my 3-5 mile runs and feels comfortable on my feet. My only complaint is the length of the shoelaces that are color coordinated with the shoe tops: you barely have enough room to tie the laces. For their cost, I can't imagine how these shoes were tested with this basic feature being overlooked. I am awaiting 5-inch longer laces that I ordered online and am hoping matches the color of the uppers. But other than that, I am very happy with these running shoes.

best ever

Ive been a fan of both The Rebel v1 and v2 but they just keep improving. Version 1 was a great shoe but had very little traction on wet surfaces so I could not run in the rain with them. Version 2 fixed that but they still had limited durability. Now they are perfect. A lightweight responsive shoe with the extra foam for durability and extra comfort when running longer miles. I use them mostly for general training but they are also great for track workouts. I especially love the fact that they come in wide. Thanks NB for continuing to offer this option!
