Not sure who this is made for
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had wanted a minimalist, light softshell pullover with abrasion resistance to serve as an outer layer when rock climbing in cooler conditions. The Ferrosi fabric seemed perfect for this, but some of the features of this anorak make it more suited to casual use rather than climbing. The hood is nice and fits over a helmet, and it packs into the front pocket and has a loop to clip it to your harness, which are nice features. The hand pockets and snaps just added unwanted weight and extra material to stuff under a climbing harness. The zippers and stitching seemingly made no attempt to minimize weight or bulk. Unfortunately, a miss for my purposes.
Excellent Top with Multiple Uses
This is an awesome top. The product inhabits a nice niche in my quiver for outdoor activities. It has some decent water resistancce, I would not wear it for extended time in rain or incredibly heavy rain, but for a light drizzle it gives you some protection. The stretch and the durability are awesome, so this is a nice go too vs. a rain jacket (especially lighter ones) if it is a dewey, misty morning. Check the sizing for yourself, I have it in large (which is great for me if I have a base under it or a thinner mid), I just ordered an XL for cooler fall or spring pursuits where I want to layer a bit more underneath.

i have put this through the ringer
the ferossi items are my favorite multi use material, I have 2 jackets, 2 anoraks and the joggers. This weekend I was absolutly impressed with the materials performance saving me up on the mountain. I went to go snowboarding and my big jacket's zipper completly was busted. All I had was the anorak I keep as a spare in my car. I slipped it over the jacket thinking it would get saoked through with the snow falling. For hours of snow falling, May wet snow, it shed the wtness with no problems, I was massivley impressed. I already knew it was an awesome material and very water resistant but this was IMPRESSIVE
Great packable product
A great light jacket to have during spring/summer when you're not quite sure what the weather has in mind. Water resistant enough to protect from light rain, windproof enough to give you that option as well, warm enough for summer evenings or cooler days as well. Very light weight and easy to pack or even hang off a day pack or sling bag. Functional pockets. Down side for me: I was slightly disappointed as I was expecting something a little heavier for cooler weather, but it has proven itself to be a great in-between and something I have worn often, likely more than I would if it was heavier.

Best OR piece I've ever worn
This is the ultimate do it all article. Wind, water, sun protection that be stored practically anywhere - add in that there zero movement restriction and you have almost no limits with this thing on. If I was rich I'd have one in every color!
Amazing jacket, but the hood...
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Amazing jacket, the ferrosi fabric is great. Also, great to see OR starting to have better and cool color schemes! I've shied away in the past because they can look like dad clothes. I like a lot of the jacket features, they nearly had a home run with this until I put the hood on. It's awful, clearly designed to fit over a helmet with no adjustment for fitting just a head. I've tried wearing it normally or over a hat, but the look of it makes me feel embarrassed, it is so goofy. I think OR should also be embarrassed. My other gear from Arc'teryx and Patagonia show that great hood design has been figured out, I don't know how OR could've missed so big on this. If they fix the hood, then it's a five star jacket.
It's a thing
I've been using this as my skiing shell in variable but mostly humid conditions and it has become a new favorite. I prefer something like this over a full goretex jacket in anything but a downpour. You don't have to worry about the waterproof layers delaminating (they do) and these breath way better. Couple this with synthetic or light wool layers and your body heat will keep you warm and dryish. This also hikes/skins well with just a baselayer. Anyway, the design of the anorak, as you can probably tell, is a pullover so you have that big kangaroo pocket you can warm your hands together in. Plus it has a pretty large size zipper pocket that's easy to get to. Much cooler than a boring old full zip jacket. Anoraks forever!
Pleased with purchase!
I am about 5'7", 155lbs, 32in waist, and bought the anorak in size medium. Fits just right. I am a size that often falls in between small and medium. Small can be a bit restricting and medium can be too baggy. Medium was a good choice in this instance. I love the shade of purple this came in as well. Looks great!
stylish and practical
I recently took the Men's Ferrosi Anorak for a spin on some local trails, and I've got to say, it's a standout. First off, the comfort level is top-notch; it's lightweight yet offers just the right amount of protection against the wind and light rain, making it perfect for unpredictable weather. The breathability factor is impressive, too-no feeling like you're wrapped in plastic. What I really appreciate is its durability. It's been through bushes, scraped against rocks, and came out the other side looking good as new. The kangaroo pocket is a nice touch for stashing your essentials. Plus, it packs down small, making it a no-brainer to throw in your backpack 'just in case.' Stylish, functional, and tough, the Ferrosi Anorak has quickly become my go-to outer layer for outdoor adventures.
Great for Running
Breathable, has a kangaroo zip pocket to minimize pocket percussion and is water resistant enough for light rains. Really like this jacket for running in the Colorado Winter as I am usually pretty warm when running anyway. Has a Technical fit and the normal hoodie pockets have button closures which is nice. Nice to see companies deliver well thought out products that aren't solely fashion focused but still look good for casual wear.
