Excellent performance, oversized fit

I was excited to try out the Taema Crew Shirt on some warm weather hikes, since I am always looking for a lightweight top that breathes and feels good against my skin. I also wanted to test it out to see if it would hold up to the "stink test" on a multi-day backpacking trip. So to emulate that at home, I decided to use it for 5 different activities over multiple days before washing it. I am happy to report that this shirt held up great in 70-85 degree weather during 2 hot trail runs, 2 intense day hikes, plus a few hours playing outdoors in the sun with my kiddo. The fabric felt soft and I liked the neckline and sleeve length. Due to the oversized fit, it didn't stick to my skin when I got sweaty, and it was just light enough for the wind to flow through and cool me off. The fabric didn't necessarily wick the sweat off my skin, as I stayed wet during high intensity trail runs, but I felt like it was cooling nonetheless. I wear natural deodorant and sunscreen, so I was a bit concerned with pit/neckline stains and underarm stink (especially since I got the white color). I will say that it started to smell about 3-4 days in and got a bit dirty, but the stink and dust disappeared after washing it the following week. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because of the fit. I typically wear an XS in most other brands for a fitted look, and sometimes size up to a S if I want extra room. However, I got this shirt in an XS and it is quite baggy, more like a relaxed, shapeless fit. I think it looks better with a pack on because the straps help give it some shape. For reference, I am 5'4", 105lbs, and 34A. I have included some photos to show the loose fit.

Usable lifespan is lacking

After one wash, every speck shows up and it already looks a year old. Having paid $70 for a t-shirt, I’d expect a BIT more visible quality. Comfort level is fine.

Great workout shirt!

I wore the shirt for running and cross-training workouts. The runs were anywhere between 3 miles and 10miles. I wore for several 3 mile runs as was concerned about possible chafing. I am happy to report no chafing, even on 10 mile runs with light rain. The shirt did not lose shape or get 'heavy' from the rain or sweat. Th color was just a little too offwhite, would prefer a more grey color. I apprectiated the smooth seams and no tag in the back to be scratchy. I liked the packaging (the resusable tote) and think the small brand logo in the corner waqs appropriatel sized.

Remarkable t-shirt

I've bought several of these over the years and they are super. Incredibly lightweight, yet tough and durable - not at all flimsy or see-through even in the light colours. The slightly heathered look they add gives a textured appearance, and the neckline is very attractive. They announced a revised fabric this year (2021) which worried me as I like the old fabric very much, but I happily can't see or feel a difference. I'm also very glad to say the fit hasn't changed at all - still a slim regular fit, not form fitting but also not baggy or shapeless (even for my petite frame). All round winner.

Note: Revision is to the FIT

(This was the review I was looking for on this tee, as most of the below relate to the version before it was revised). The current fit is Regular, which is tighter fitting to the body. I bought a medium and it's snug across the chest, shoulders, arm holes and hips. Although it technically "fits" it's not the feel I was looking for in an active tee so I'm going to size up. For reference, the Silene Crew is "relaxed" fit and a medium is perfect. Other than the fit, the shirt is super lightweight, quick drying, UPF rated 40+ and will be a regular wear this summer... once I get my correct size :)

My new favorite shirt

I absolutely love this shirt. It's super comfortable and lightweight. By far the most comfortable shirt I have ever worn running in the summer heat. I usually avoid white shirts because I stain all of them but this seems to be cleaning up so well. I might need to buy a few more of these.

So Lite!

I bought this Taema crew shirt for a 12 day thru hike. Usually I wear dry-fit shirts from 10k's but wanted something a little more stylish :). This shirt is so light and fits so well! I loved it. Quick to wash and dry too.

Best SS Shirt Ever

I bought one of these to wear jogging in the desert and am super impressed with how light weight and comfortable it is. I typically don't boast about how comfortable a shirt is, but this one is awesome. It's the right mix of length and bagginess, without being shapeless. It's perfect for bright sunny days in the desert and feels great against the skin, and is very breathable. After wearing my first one for a few weeks, I splurged and bought a second. They are now my go-to hike, bike, and run shirts when the temps reach 60 degrees.

Material and sizing are different than last year's

This version runs tighter all around and the material is itchy. The blue is still beautiful, but I had to return it because of fit and feel. I love the one I bought last year and was hoping to buy a few more, but maybe next year they'll bring it back the way it was.

Improved Fit

I wanted to try the new fit and this shirt. Overall I was pretty happy with the new fit. I have hips and in the past anything I'd tried on rode up uncomfortably. This is better. I am still disappointed to only see about six size options. I have friends who love the design and quality of Arc'teryx, they have the financial means to invest in quality products. But the fit continues to be an issue. I will be watching to see what the brand will be doing to extend the fit and sizing of all the products.
