I had Achilles tendinitis as a result of a heel bone spur. It was quite painful and interfered with my love of hiking with my dog. A friend recommended I try the Hoka brand, well, the rest is history. I was able to hike again immediately, as my heel did not hurt and the tendonitis healed in a short time. I live in Moab, UT and the hiking here is quite diversified, from slick rock (red sandstone) trails to deep red sand to rock-filled washes and talus slopes. I wear my Hokas every day and they are awesome. Very comfortable and sturdy and the best part is - my feet don't hurt! Yay! I highly recommend this shoe for hiking. Thank you, Hoka for understanding my feet and making a product that makes hiking pain-free.
I love my Hokas (Clifton, 2 Torrent & Kaha boots) but these are a disappointment. I find the tongue is uncomfortable on the top of my foot & hard to get exactly placed. They're stiffer than my Kaha boots that I purchased over a year ago and not as cushy. I like that they're waterproof & the color (blue) but will be returning them.
I walked 7 miles a day for two weeks in these shoes and my feet never hurt! They are amazing! I did change the inserts to one that is shaped well for my arch-added even more comfort. I never want to take them off!
Excellent, comfortable support for both trail and sidewalk. I ordered these because the soles on Hoka Cliftons and Bondis wear out so quickly for me. I think the Vibram soles will last longer.
