Patagonia  Barely Baggies Shorts - Women's

I had a 5 year-old pair of Barely Baggies I wore on every summer/fall hiking and backpacking and they were my go-to travel shorts, as well. I recently lost them to the ocean and tried replacing them with a new pair, but the material and cut have changed. The material is thinner and feels more nylon-y (less durable). The cut feels a little narrower through the hips, so there's a bit of a pull at my bum when I raise my knees. Overall, they no longer feel like the same shorts, so I returned them. Height: 5'4 Weight: 115 lb Waist: 26 in Hip: 35.5 in Thigh at shorts hem: 21.5 in Original and new pair were both size Small.

I saw these at the store, and snagged them without trying them on since the print is so much fun! I am generally a Medium in most bottoms across most brands so I didn’t think twice to try them on. When I got home, it was a struggle to get them past my butt and thighs, and I double checked the tag to make sure I didn’t accidentally grab an XS/S! But once they are on they fit. But if you looking for something to pull on quick, these are not it. If you got a little junk in the trunk I would advise going up a size. Will return and see if the L fits better.

Obviously nothing but praise for Patagonia’s Barely Baggies, they get worn EVERYWHERE. BUT the sizing on the Spring 2022 model is about 15% larger than previous years, and they’re about 3/4 inch longer as well. Still super cute but something to note when purchasing

My new favorite shorts, I came to buy another pair. I've been wearing them for all my oudoor activities- pool, mowing the lawn, walking the dogs, or hiking in the Carolina woods. I have a square shape and these fit my waist without oversqueezing or having a baggy hip. The material doesnt seem to hold water so they are great for getting wet and staying cool. Deep pockets have mesh lining and a key loop which is nice too.

As much as I love the style and material, the waist band is not for those with hips! The XS fits my bottom and legs perfectly but it is a struggle to get the shorts on. I tried sizing up and the band was much better but the fit everywhere else was not. I love these shorts but had to return, please fix the band issue!

I have a few pairs of the barely baggies in a size medium. They fit comfortably once I get them up, but don’t have enough stretch in the elastic band to fit over my backside/hips without really working them up. I have an hourglass shape and once they’re on they’re not uncomfortable, but do tend to ride up a little bit. I wouldn’t say they’re too big because they do fit once one but maybe that’s the issue? Honestly my biggest issue has just been a lack of elasticity to get them up over my bum.

Got for a trip to Hawaii and they are perfect! Quick to dry, sand doesn’t stick, look decent with my bathing suit. I’m a size 12 and normally Large works for me. The Large didn’t fit my thighs/butt very well, but fit my waist. I sized up to XL (listed as a 16/18 on their size chart- no way), and they are a little baggie (hence the name!), and I use the drawstring to since in at the waist. It’s probably best to try these on in person if you can.

Very comfortable and well made shorts. They feel almost like wearing a sport short but are made of tougher fabric. I bought these for use this spring and I’m excited to wear them.

Fit true to size (5'3", ~120lbs). Wore while camping and hiking at a national park but can see myself sporting this casually as well!

Love these shorts soooo much. Perfect summer shorts. I lost them and just ordered a new pair because I miss them every day
