Thin, thin, thin
Many reviews remarked on how thin the jacket is. I bought it anyway with the idea that I could wear a sweater under it. It is SO thin. It's basically a shirt with hints of a wax finish. The style is fine, but the functionality is very limited. I returned the item.
Quality diminished.
I purchased one 5 years ago that had good metal zippers and stout buttons. I planned to get another as I’ve gained weight. The new version had snaps and cheaper zippers. I also thought the material was thinner. Not the value it once was. I decided to get the Burr jacket instead.
Not the quality I expected from Kuhl
Not the quality I expected from Kuhl. I own the original version of the Kollusion Jacket and it is my favorite article of clothing. I ordered this one thinking it would be similar and was very disappointed. The hideaway hood and areas around the armpits are made of a cheap polyester material. The Turkish Coffee version of the jacket is not brown by any stretch of the imagination; it's olive green. I will be returning this jacket, but I'm frustrated that I have to pay to ship it back to REI as I do not live close to a store.
really nice, warm functional jacket
I got this jacket on sale, and am very happy that I did. It’s my go to for chili days, and it sheds light rain showers without trouble. The waxed canvas show looks great, and feels nice compared to the usual synthetics, and the Sherpa lining is the most comfortable of anything I have. The styling is pretty darn nice, as well. It has Of a modernized M 65 classic military field jacket That seems to never go out of style. I’m reading it three other five stars due to A slightly irritating, build flaw, they would keep me from feeling like it was a good deal at full price: The snaps on the sleeve cuffs don’t hold well, and inevitably pop open, serving as a mild frustration and making it ever so slightly less less warm on breezy days.
Beautiful looks but misses the mark!
I purchased this jacket for it's looks. Love the slim design, hood in the collar and many pockets! However, it is not lined and not warm, even in Texas. The shell will mist but a sprinkle to light rain will soak it. Conclusion, not warm or water resistant as needed.
Loving this lightweight field jacket
Lots of pockets great shell jacket, size up to allow for layering, I normally wear Large I bought XL allows for room for layering and Kuhl usually fits smaller on all products
Attractive, functional...but no good in the rain
I like the look and feel of this jacket very much, however the wax coating seems pretty ineffective. It soaks through in even mild rain. And there is no insulation at all, though the weight of the fabric is good, and it feels sturdy. The fit is on the slim side, I'm 5' 10" 210 lbs with a 36" waist, and it is snug around my belly and waist.
Where's the wax?
Ain't waxed enough to provide any weather resistance. So, I waxed it myself with Sno-Seal. It's a good looking jacket and it functions well, now that I've waxed it proper.
Built 4 outdoors and stylish enough 4 movies
Fits/performs/looks great. Awesome light jacket or combined with layers.
Perfect for Layering
Perfect light duty jacket with a great design and plenty of pockets
