Hi Marmot! Thank you for my EVODry Torreys Jacket! I just want to be clear. This jacket is not semi-fitted. It is a extra regular cut and has extra room for layering, which I love. I am '5 8" and weigh 196, so I got the Large. I tested it out in downtown San Francisco, while this atmospheric river was pouring down rain. It performed beautifully! I got rained on for hours and stayed dry and snug as a bug thanks to the EVODry Technology. The water beads up nicely. Jacket was nowhere close to wetting out! It is my go to shell. My only complaint is the hood does not have a firm brim. Other than that I am stoked by this new PFC free technology.
This jacket did everything I needed it to. We did a long weekend backpacking in Northern Wisconsin. We had rain and snow, and temperatures fluctuated between 7 degrees F and 55 degrees F. The jacket kept me dry and worked well with my mid and base layers to keep me warm. I especially liked how high the neck of the jacket is. It covered the lower part of my face and protected it from the cold winds.
Let me tell you a story: Once upon a time there was a group of friends hiking in the mountains. They were so taken with the beauty of the alpine scenery that they spent much more time above treeline than they should have, given the weather forecast called for rain showers. By the time they started making it back down, it began to rain. Like, a lot. Luckily one hiker was able to stuff all of the valuable camera equipment in his EVOdry jacket to stay dry on the way down. Five hasty, muddy miles later, this Marmot rain shell kept the wearer and all of the camera equipment as dry as a bone. What's more - all the mud slung up everywhere washed poff immediately with a hose, and the jacket looked good as new. Moral of the story: This is an excellent rain shell, and always keep an eye on the weather in the mountains. Happy hiking!
I've been wearing this for the past few months and have taken it on rainy hikes and rappelling down wet canyons. I love this layer and it keeps me super dry, fits great, material seems very tough, and I highly recommend it. Excited to use this as a backcountry skiing shell this winter.
Large fits great! 6’1 225lbs, 34”waist. I wear large in Nike, Old navy, Patagonia, UA. Water rolls right off, not super slim fit, but it’s pretty trim which is a plus. No Stretch or 2 way zipper, those would give this a 6 STAR review.
This is a great rain layer. It's been durable, good size, the features you need without the weight of the ones you don't. It's my go to shell. I even use it as an outer layer in the winter with warmer layers underneath. Super versatile.
Bought for lightweight rain/snow shell jacket and it is my new favorite! Great at keeping the warm in and the elements out I would recommend this to anyone looking for a Lightweight Shell.
Good jacket. Light weight, Good rain protection. Like the pit zips. Only improvement would be a way to stow the attached hood into the back of the collar.
Its a good jacket, seems well made. Doesnt breathe enough for me, so gets wet on inside and havent got hood to where i like.
Great jacket! I bought it to replace an old jacket that was no longer keeping me dry. Fits well, nice pockets and touches.
