Quick to set up, thoughtful features
I got this to use for bathroom while boondocking at BLM Land. I wanted something easy to set up and easy to use. It was indeed quite easy to set up. I tried it out at home while reading the instructions once, and was ready to go on my trip. Took less than 15 minutes to set up (and really just mostly due to hammering stakes into the hard ground. More on that in a bit but I recommend some modifications). I didn't have to fuss with weaving poles through things or deploying tent poles. The entire unit unfolds and extends. It was quite roomy inside even without the guylines fully extended, which is nice if you need to set up a toilet seat, small side table foe toiletries, or some additional room to maneuver. Overhead there's space to hang a shower bag as well so that's nice. There is also a convenient internal mesh bag to put toilet paper and WAG bags. Their are two side windows to you can unzip to a mesh screen, and then even unzip that for open access. The windows are great if you need to air out the insides to dry or for other reasons. The stakes that come with are unfortunately the usual disappointing Shepard hook ones, but you can easily remedy that buy picking up your favorites ones these fail you (min 4, 12 to fully secure and deploy. I think you realistically only need 8 unless you're setting up in a wind tunnel) The base unit attachments to secure it to the ground are just thick nylon loops, so first thing I'll do next time is to tie some paracords to it as an inbetween from the tent to the stake so I'm not hammering my stake right into the non replaceable loop. (Stake edges can get sharp and fray whatever it'd attached to...) One more kind of bummer is that the floor cannot be rolled back. I was thinking of just digging a hole instead of using WAG bags, but realizing the floor can't be removed, that was no longer an option, which wasn't terrible, but good to know.

Definitely not Rapid Setup for the Solo Camper
This shelter was incredibly difficult to erect alone - frustrating because this shelter costs 2-3 times more than others on the basis that it is very fast and easy to set up and that is simply not the case. Based on ease of use and price, it did not deliver. Once erected, the shelter does appear to be sturdy and well made. I like that it has a footprint that is a screen type of material around the edges of the floor for ventilation and draining for showers.

Impressive design and quality

We are extremely impressed with the design of this shelter! It's so quick and easy to put up and take down. The fabric quality is excellent. Screened windows, a pocket for placing items inside, a lantern/flashlight hook in the top, double-zippered door. The double floor is designed impressively so that water inside can drain out, yet water underneath (from rain showers) does not come in. It folds up easily and neatly into the carrying case. Insructions are easy to follow, but it's pretty user-friendly so that they are barely needed.

Easy to use quality shelter!

I had one of those impossible-to-putbackinbag pop-up privacy tents and thought surely there must be something better. I am so glad I found this item! It is super easy to set up and the fabric is thick and quite waterproof. I have had this out in the rain for several days and there is no water leaking through the fabric. It is actually tall enough to stand in with a shower and there is ample room for latrine, shower or changing needs. Definitely worth the upgrade!

Making thing easy

My group of girls that all go camping together picked this privacy shelter up to do just what it says, to have a little privacy. We could not even imagine how easy it was to set up and drop down. I mean this baby is super simple and I mean simple. The design should get an award for being dummy proof is all I can say. The Fabric is very thick and holds up great compared to the cheapo hard to put together junk units we have seen. This is now a must part of our trips.

Love it, except for the outside mesh pocket!

This is well made, sturdy and very easy to put up and take down. Our only criticism is that the outside mesh pocket by the window should be on the inside, for holding shampoos, soap, etc. not on the outside.

Perfect setup for hot shower

I bought this to go along with the Geyser hot portable shower. I received it two days after ordering, and set it up in my backyard. Setup was easy even with one person; only took a couple minutes. We have a rooftop tent, so we plan to also use this for changing our clothes without having to climb up into the tent or get inside the car.

LOVE IT

We just love this privacy shelter. It is super easy to set up. It takes us about 2 minutes max. The fabric is very thick and durable and it has been a great luxury to our camping trips. We could have spent a bit less on a cheapo but this has been way better then we ever imagined it would be.

Easy & Private

We do a bunch of car camping but my wife is a bit shy. We brought the privacy shelter along with us. It set up easy and gave my wife the privacy she needed to actually be out in nature. Once summer hits we will try it with using as a shower. Glad we got this really wish we had gotten it sooner.

Good addition to my gear

This shelter is super. First assembly was a little cumbersome – legs everywhere. But after repackaging and then trying again it became smooth and easy. That said, disassembly was even easier. Snap a push-button for each leg release. Then fold it up and put it back in the bag. I soon realized I needed to fold the legs in pairs, first one leg and folding the leg opposite so the fabric didn't bind the legs. The shelter is complete, including a rain fly and towel bar. There's even a mesh pocket built onto the inside for odds and ends. On the down side, the stakes furnished to secure the shelter from tipping over or blowing over are short and smooth -won't hold in sand or loose soil. REI has replacements. Similarly, the straps to tighten the bundle after disassembly were barely adequate. I replaced these with some gear tiedown straps with buckles from my supply. All in all, great purchase. Good addition to my gear.

Easiest shelter to set up and take down.

The Caddis Shelter is amazingly easy to put up and take down compared to a similar privacy/potty shelter that we used to have. It is well worth the extra price compared to similar shelters.
