Aesthetics is about all this shoe is good for
This is the second pair of Chrome cycling shoes that I've bought and I'm not ever buying a third. This shoe suffers from what the same issue that my previous Chrome shoe purchase suffered from: absence of a basic shoe fit. All show and no go. The heel of this shoe is the problem. The heel cup does a poor job of keeping the heel in the show. The rest of the shoe has an acceptable fit but my heel lifts off of the shoe as I walk. The shoe seems to be designed for someone with a large heel. I just do not understand. I've included a pic of the heel next to a bike shoe, athletic shoe, and casual shoe. Additionally, the shoe runs two sizes small!
mountain out of a mole-heel?
I really wanted to like this show. I’ve been looking and waiting for this clip less sneaker for awhile. The problem for me was that my heel didn’t stay in when I walked in it. I bought my usual size, then I bought the sized- down one thinking that was my fault for not following the size recommendation. Same problem. I think it would be a stellar shoe for riders like me who hate the feel of walking on their clips but I also don’t want my brand new kicks feeling like flip flops. Impressive innovation, disappointing purchase Notable flaw IMO: no padding or low-top support around the Achilles’ tendon.
Looks great, but heavy and cleat contacts ground
These look great. But they are incredibly heavy- the soles weigh a ton. My Shimano SPD cleats are not fully protected by the thick soles, which is a slip hazard when walking, scratches floors, and sounds like I’m wearing tap shoes. Disappointing.
Heel slip kills an otherwise solid bike shoe
This thing is well made, but the heel design means it’s constantly coming off my foot, while walking, and while riding. This is not just an annoyance but also a potentially big issue in terms of staying connected to the pedals. I tried to make it work: switching out in-soles and laces but ended up having to give them away because of the fit.
