Comfortable, versatile and nice looking.

Very happy with the sizing and comfort of this shoe. my last pair of Shimano shoes lasted about 20 years, including 10 years of daily commuting. These seem to be of equal quality. The soles are robust and the tread is deep enough to keep the clips off of the wood floors in my house, yet not so deep that clipping in is difficult. The sizing is roomy. The Euro 48 mens fits my US 12 1/2 foot nicely with a little extra toe room for the inevitable swelling on a long ride. I can just fit a waterproof sock inside for rainy days, but it might be too snug for a really long ride. The clip position is adjustable front to back by about 15 mm and perhaps 6 mm side to side. The neutral position is just behind the ball of the foot. Be sure to use the recommended torque on the screws to hold the clip position firmly. The clips are not included. The shoe bottom is rigid, as it should be. Cushioning is just enough for comfort without unnecessary "squish" The rigid floor has a small amount of arch curve, so it is not dead flat like some competitors. The tie and Velcro strap system is excellent, and once in and adjusted it stays firmly fitted. It's best to fully open the tie and strap when putting on the shoe to prevent breaking down the heal padding. After a couple wearings it becomes second nature. Great shoes!

Great for Flat Feet

I tried shoes from Adidas, 5.10, Scott, Specialize ... All of them featured very narrow lasts and prominent arches. That is great for some, but for us duck walkers, that is just not comfortable. These Shimano's are definitely worth quacking about. They are comfortable, light, have great tread, are easy to walk in, and felt great from the very first ride. I like the lacing system better than the popular boa's because in these you have more control over how tight the toe box is compared to the rear of the foot.

Good fit for a foot that is on the narrow side

My husband, who is consistently fits a size men's 10B, could not even get his foot in because the lacing wouldn't allow the shoe to open wide enough. However, it was a good fit for me. I needed a shoe with a wider toe box, and even though my heel slips a little I kept them because they don't squeeze my toes as do many women's cycling shoes. Not a racer, going for comfort here. Plus, I like the lacing system; it's easy to get the correct snugness and not having to tie them is a great convenience. Better than boa because the tension is easier to customize

Nice shoes

Very comfortable. Well built Shimano product. Looks to stand the test of time. Plenty stiff in the sole and easily walkable. You could easily go “grocery shopping” in these shoes without walking like a penguin and clickety clacking throughout the store. Very soft grippy sole as well

Impracticle to put on

Went to REI to buy these shoes. Everything was impressive BUT. The laces are so short that even at their most open position ( constrained by a toggle ), I could not put the shoe on without either using a shoe horn or crushing the heel. I did the latter and the 44 fit nicely. Did not purchase.

Awesome shoes so far!

I was looking for a mountain biking shoe that had a wider toe box and the look and feel of a hiking shoe. Feels good and comfortable, holds heel in place with quick cinch lace and Velcro strap. Doesn’t loosen up while riding. Quality Shimano gear. I recommend these!
