Rapha quality is legendary, with the company using properly paid labor, offering free repairs, and making products that last for a decade or more. If you want to extend your riding season into cooler months (like now in October), this is essential. It also works as a base layer for even colder weather under a waterproof shell. I'm 6'2" and 180lbs and the L is a good fit for my long arms. This is a perfect match to the Rapha Core bib shorts. I hope REI continues to get even more from this great company. Rapha only costs a little more than other companies, but their stuff lasts forever and it's better made and stylish as a bonus.
I cycle on the northern California coast and inland year-round. Temps range from 31 - 70 F. This jersey has just the right amount of pile on the interior to remain comfortable on a 25+ mile ride between 48 - 60 F. Exterior is enough to keep cool 10+ MPH headwinds at bay. I'm a size 43 and a 32 1/2 inch sleeve. I have the size Large and it fits perfectly in the body, just a touch long in the sleeves; Classy badging.
I love the Rapha Core lineup for it's quality, comfort, and value. I am 5'5" and 143lbs and were XS Core Bibs and Short Sleeve Jerseys. I was told for the long sleeve version to take the same size as the short sleeve version albeit the long sleeve would feel a tad tighter. So Rapha's recommendation was spot on in that the long sleeve chest and stomach area was a tad tighter but nothing crazy BUT the arms were insanely long like 4.5"+ too long even with my arms fully extended and that the arms were insanely tight and I have pencils for arms. Even if I could look past the longer sleeves since I have short arms, I just couldn't get past how restricting the arms were. Again I have very skinny arms and the long sleeves were so restrictive I am not sure I could bike with this jersey comfortably.
These clothes just don't fit. And are SO expensive. I'm only 6'1" and they do not have a single size to fit me!
