sturdy with some heavy caveats
I just want to start off with the positives. This bag is durable. It can handle anything. It looks absolutely brand new and has handled dozens of trips over the past couple years. The material is water resistant and when my party’s bag was left on a tarmac on a rainy day, items were dry as a bone where those with fabric luggage was soaked. The wheels are PERFECT for European travel in cobble stone or rough terrain. The handle is the sturdiest luggage handle I have ever used. The inside is one big cavern so you can fit as much as you need to inside. Now onto the bad… and the bad really are the things that make it so good. The 2 wheeler design is great… except it is very clunky to use on airports. If you have a heavy personal item on top of it your arms will get TIRED having to lug it on top of the handle. The handle bar also is *very* wide. I have regular sized male hands and it is very uncomfortable to hold onto for extended periods of time. I personally feel this bag is best used for Europe travel, if you know you will be traveling on cobblestones or very uneven pavement. I breezed past my husband on terrain like this. However in airports I was miserable. This has lead me to retire this bag for non European travel and get a traditional 4 wheeler.

Wheel came apart on second use
I used this bag twice and one of the wheel covers already came apart. I’ve had similar less expensive wheeled carry ons that lasted 10 years with many trips per year. I thought it looked sturdy! Very disappointed.

Great carry on bag for planes and trains

I recently returned from a two week trip to France. I am petite and I like small carry on bags that I can maneuver through subway stations, trains, cobblestone streets and sidewalks without difficulty. This bag fit the bill. The outside is tough and durable. I was on a 7 day bike trip and the suitcase was transferred from hotel to hotel without any damage. I negotiated subway stairs during rushhour without difficulty by carrying it with the conveniently located straps on the top and the side. It is small enough to fit between my legs on the train. But it is large enough to carry 10 days of clothes- including, three bike pants, three bike shirts, three regular pants, a flannel jacket, light sweater, and 5 shirts, a pair of sandles, fold up sun hat, toiletry bag, 5 socks, 7 pair of underwear, pjs and when flying- my bike seat. I'm a good packer and squeeezed everything in. I also carry a small back back for under the seat essentials on the plain. There is only the one outside pocket that I used for my travel book and print outs, and a small pocket where I stashed 3 pairs of bike gloves. If you like to travel light- this is a great bag. If you like a lot of clothing, then you will want a larger, check on bag. I am 5'2, 117 pounds. This bag worked great. I'm going to Iceland in two months and will have to pack some heavier items. I will up date later.

Tank-Like Durability Meets Smart Design

This roller bag has exceeded all my expectations for both durability and functionality. The rugged Base Camp material shrugs off baggage handler abuse while staying surprisingly lightweight. The compact 21" size fits perfectly in overhead bins, yet the thoughtful organization and compression straps let me pack for a week-long trip. Rolling is smooth and stable on both airport floors and city streets. Love the separate compartment for dirty clothes and the water-resistant zippers. Worth every penny if you're a frequent traveler who needs bombproof reliability.

Almost the Ideal Carryon

After running through an airport with a loaded backpack, I decided to get a rolling bag that fits in the overhead bins in the plane. I looked at several options, but this North Face bag was by far the best. It has a very sturdy substantial handle and a rubberized coating on the fabric so it can be easily wiped down. I only wish it had some interior pockets to store things. Luckily I can fit my fully packed Roots backpack inside

North Face Light Weight Two Wheels.

I really liked this bag. I liked that it was light and had a very sturdy handle grips and soundness when extended. I just wish that they made this exact bad in a spinner wheeled model.

Great for Europe travel!

This bag is awesome! Can fit a lot with packing cubes. I used it for 2.5 months while traveling Europe from October through December and it was great. It fits in all budget airline overhead compartments. I especially loved that the wheels were very hearty and good on cobblestones and the water resistant material.

Love it!

Just got back from 2 weeks in Scotland carrying this bag plus a small day pack. Used packing cubes for 6 t-shirts, 2 pairs of pants, 1 pair of shorts, a rain jacket, underwear, and toiletries, and was still able to fit an extra pair of shoes, charging cords/connections, and miscellaneous flotsam and jetsam. Fully packed, the bag weighed about 21 pounds, fit into overhead bins on the planes, and was easy to maneuver through airports and over city streets. Handle and wheels are very sturdy and the bag doesn't fall over when fully loaded. Really like the water-resistant fabric and the blue/red colorway. Be aware that the laptop compartment on the front of the bag is only lightly padded, so you might want to use it for something that isn't fragile. Overall I was really pleased with the bag's performance and plan to use it for future trips.
