Perfect for small puddle hopping flughts with letter box thin over head bins. Material is strong. Wheels do not stick out, so baggage handlers cannot use them to throw the bag around if in hold of plane. Telesvopic handle is strong. Internal straps are sturdy. Minimalist pockets is appreciated. Lap top fits in exterior pocket for ease of access when going through TSA security. The one small pocket handles brush, glasses and other items with ease. Interior pocket is ideal for paperwork. Pity there is no key hook. I research bags thoroughly. I believed this to be best value for money. I look forward to many distant adventures with my this no nonsense, sturdy bag.
I’ve now had my trusty little NF bag for 10 months and it’s finally starting to bite the dust. I loved this bag and it has some great features, one of which is that it’s light on features and does exactly what I needed it to do. But alas- the plastic plate on the bottom of the bag has split and it won’t support upright weight correctly anymore. I’ve read that they’ve redone some of the bag and I’m hopeful for that as 10 months of travel for a nearly $300 bag isn’t enough. Time to try on Topo or Timbuk2, I think.
Great for weekend trips or or international tours. I like that it fits ALL airline carryon restrictions, even those cheap european airlines. I bought this for a 2 week trip to Japan, wanting something different than my usual 40L backpack luggage. It worked so well and was a relief on my aching back. I prefer the 2 wheels instead of 4 wheels. They are more sturdy ( like rollerblade wheels) and handle cobblestone or dirt roads really well. Multiple bag handles made for easy lifting into overhead compartments. It is small, though, and doesn't expand for those inevitable souvenirs. I brought a small folded duffle bag and, at the end, had to pack another small duffle carry-on to get home with my gifts. I will use it again this spring to Europe.
I’ve had this rollie since TND introduced it. Atleast ten years. I’ve traced the world with it and it’s still in great shape. The only failure is that the name tag has started coming off. Easy to carry when you need to with a handle top and bottom. The best part is how you can drag it over rough terrain from trails in Chile to cobblestone streets in Croatia to flooded streets in South Korea. It’s the bomb!
Does what it should, but will be returning. It’s basic, with the one main compartment and a couple sleeves in the flap lid. The handle extends fairly long, which is nice. But the “ambidextrous” collapse buttons started sticking on the first trip; not easily triggered on a single side. I’d have to free my other hand and push both buttons.
Purchased this bag as a carry on and travel bag for a trip to Italy. It is very well made and was more than capable enough to handle the flights, train rides and various other forms of transit. It fit everything I needed for over a week of travel with room to spare. The only negative I can think to mention is that it only has unidirectional wheels, so it’s not as versatile getting through tight spaces.
North Face Carry on, plenty of space. Used for an overseas trip for 16 days. Held up well. Light weight, easy to roll. Fits in overhead compartment fine. Not hard coated like larger sized North Face bags. Definitely satisfied with purchase.
I am a North Face everything fan….these bags fit perfect in the smallest of aircraft’s however the only problem we seem to have is one the screws is becoming loose in the handle - I took one star off since we’ve only had this particular bag 1.5 yrs. Otherwise perfect size for clothes for a long weekend 2 pairs of shoes and toiletries
I wanted to love this, but after two trips the outer shell already had a couple of rips and cuts from loading in/out of the car and airplane overhead storage bins. There’s no way this lasts for the long haul.
Very Good Travel Bag. Easy to use for short trips, and large enough to pack plenty of clothing.
