Tracking Key Ride Metrics Made Easy
I bought the Wahoo Element Bolt to track speed, distance, climbing (vertical ascent in meters or VAM) and other important statistics for fun and training purposes. It does what it's intended to do. The Cadence Sensor fell off my crank arm after it was attached by the sticky adhesive and had to be replaced due to no fault of my own (i.e use the zip ties and don't trust the stickem method). The Cadence Sensor is also very temperamental and drops out often. The speedometer works great with no problems. I love the Heart Rate Monitor and feel it's a great way to monitor the workload my body is sustaining. The digital readout on the head unit is small for my 50+ yr. old eye's but works. If this is an issue for you, buy the unit with larger graphics. I haven't purchased a power-meter yet due to the expense, but I may in the future. I am happy overall with the purchase. I find it to be a great way to monitor my progress in fitness and get accurate access to statistics. It's a giant leap forward to the older cycle computers that I had decades ago and is worth the investment. Pull the trigger on purchasing one if you want to measure and progress in your riding.
Sweet Ecosystem
Very glad I opted for the bundle! I really enjoy tracking my data to get a better gage of each ride & how they compare. Very user friendly, though I do recommend setting up one device with everything you’d like before adding another device. For example, I received the Bolt Bundle & the Rival watch at the same time. I wish I had setup the Bolt with my phone & all device/apps prior to going through the same motions with my Rival watch. Tons of YouTube videos in case you get lost or need help. Wahoo integrates well to my Strava hub. Uploads from Ride with GPS are stellar too. Can’t wait to get another Wahoo item!
Don't waste your money
The computer itself is fine, maybe slightly underwhelming for the price. The UI is cumbersome. What I have qualms with is the HRM chest strap. First, the battery door/cover is very cheap and doesn't seem to latch quite properly leading to battery not being secured into place and the HRM turning off mid-training. Additionally, when opening the battery door with a coin, the plastic gets dented and jagged, resulting in a very uncomfortable contact on your chest. Second -- which may be related to the battery door issue not securing into place -- the accuracy is quite off. One minute, I'll be at 140bpm and seconds later I'm at 0, then 81. I've tried multiple times to reset, clean, and all other troubleshooting steps recommended by Wahoo, but I keep running into the same issues. Third, connectivity is faulty and I often have to unpair the computer (AND HRM) to get it to connect again. Overall, I'm not too happy with the purchase and now this $400 bundle is sitting in my garage collecting dust.
It works! It doesn't!
I purchased the bundle 2 weeks ago and have been consistently having problems with the HR monitor. The pairing frequently fails mid ride, or the it works well on one day and is unpaired when I start a workout the next day. Initially, I chalked this up to user error, but I'm now convinced the problem is with the device. (The LED lights are also inconsistent: I'm pretty sure I have a heartbeat.) REI has been gracious about the return, but I must hand in the entire bundle and start over. Will take a week to receive replacement products.
Just bummed
I love the Bolt 2, but the out front mount attaches on an accessory bar on my Catrike. To that it I need a rubber bushing to fit it the accessory bar’s 1/2” diameter. You guys don’t provide one per your support group. So I have to goto Garmin or Quadlock to get the rubber bushing.
Off And Riding!
My first venture into the world of bike computing. The set was perfect. Got me started and has worked almost perfectly for a year. The occasional glitches are easy to remedy.and due to wifi.
Awesome product
I joined cycling just a couple of months ago and was skeptical at first, not wanting to invest even more money into this hobby, on something I perhaps didn’t fully need. However my cycling changed when I bought and started using Wahoo Elemnt Bolt V2. There’s so much data that comes with it, the GPS feature allows me to plan routes before hand. The new climbing feature I’ve found to really enjoy. As a newbie I’m not the best at climbing and knowing how long I’ve got left and at what incline grade I’m at gives you a lot of insight. I’ve yet to try many of the other features like workouts and intervals, so I’m excited to do that. Having a cycling cpu isn’t a must but its definitely a game-changer. I don’t regret it at all and am really happy with the Bolt. Highly recommend!!
An Awesome Computer for Cycling!
Would highly recommend the ELEMNT Bolt V2 GPS Bike Computer. It's super easy to install and super easy to use and tracks all of the key metrics. the display is bright and colorful, and has different zoom settings making it easy to read. Fits perfectly on my handlebars. it can track both outdoor and indoor rides and is compatible with the TrainingRoads and TrainingPeak apps.
No Sensors shipped
Element Bundle two times, sensor bundle was not in the factory box! I had to go to my local REI store to get it. What a pain! Cannot Wahoo packaging get it correct?
One of the best Bike
One of the best Bike computers I've ever had. Small and light and very fast related to updating and data connection. Is a "must have" if you want to take your trainings to the next level
