outstanding easy setup and reliability.

2023 Upgraded to a roam bike computer. I moves this between my winter road bike and mountain bike and I am pleased. High points are bright screen, color coded and even brighter heart rate display-green- yellow--red!, large readable 9 data points including temp , but most of all the Roam's reliability. Battery life is great and it picks up my heartrate and cadence sensors instantly every time, phone link works every time and data flows to strava promptly. I don't use maps on my bike computer.

Doesn't provide accurate power data
CDinMA
This my second Element. I was pleased with my first. I have a power tap power meter on one of my bikes. This unit paired easily with the power meter. However, many of the power data fields on the unit, most notably the average power field, do not work at all or provide bogus information. Moreover, some of the fields that do work do not work when you have other power related fields displayed on your workout page. Clearly this is a major software bug. After exchanging several emails with Wahoo support, they admitted that this was a problem they were aware of and that firmware needed to be updated to address it. Sorry, but I will not keep the unit while they are debugging. This is something that should occur before the product is released. I have a lot of Wahoo products, including a Kickr and a Kickr Bike, but this experience has shaken my faith in the company.

Undecided - Waiting for cadence and HRM issue

Don't let my stars affect the product. I have not used it yet. I bought the Element because of the screen size. When I opened the box, there was no cadence or heart rate monitors. While the features do not list either monitor as coming with the product, it also doesn't say the monitors are extra. However, the Technical Specs section on the right side of the screen lists both features as "Yes." This listing leads a prospective purchaser like me that both monitors would be included. I have reached out to REI for clarification before I decide if I want to keep this purchase.

Outstanding Cycling Computer

This is my second Wahoo computer and my first Roam. Nice upgrade on size and battery performance. I've had no problems with connecting multiple bikes with multiple power meters and sensors. My first Element lasted about 30,000 miles (still working btw) and I'm hoping to get 5yrs and 40,000 miles on my Wahoo Roam. Great product.

Reluctantly purchased, but now can't live without

I never knew I wanted this until I had one, and I always thought it was an extravagance given all of the things you can do with a smartphone. I've been tracking rides on Strava for years with the app, but the computer adds a few things that are really nice to have: 1. I bought a Garmin Varia radar tail light and wanted the traffic display. I've only been riding with the Varia for a few weeks but can't imagine wanting to ride in the city without it ever again. 2. While I can log all the data from heart rate, speed, and cadence sensors with my phone, it causes my phone battery to get drained pretty fast. Moving all of my sensors to the Roam has dramatically reduced demands on my phone battery. 3. Certain apps (looking at you, Strava) no longer work with sensors directly, so you have to record rides in some other app and then transfer. When you end a ride on the Roam, you can upload it to multiple services (Strava, RideWithGPS, and so on) just by stopping. 4. Having real-time display of my heart rate enables me to target fitness in real time. There's a section of my commute where the lights are timed for bicycle speeds (~13 mph), but I tend to ride hard and use that section as interval training because I can see how my heart rate responds to varying the workout.

Still a Work in Progress

Still a work in progress in the second generation of the Wahoo Elemnt Roam. The screen is one of the best surpassing Garmin and Hammerhead in visibility and informative color backgrounds. But if you're an advanced cyclist the underlyling software is still broken and Wahoo support just says it's 'on their list'. Total b*llshit. The latest unaddressed bugs for me are below. 1) Syncing to Strava is consistently broken and works only 30% of the time with no way to upload history. 2) No way to adjust crank length. This is important for accurate power readings. 3) Can't display gear numbers with Shimano Di2. You only get '2-5' vs. '53-17'. I would only recommend the Wahoo Elemnt Roam if screen quality is the most important feature to you. If you're looking for the best, yet full featured computer you should go for Garmin. You'll have a little glare and more cumbersome setup but you'll get the most out of it.

Perfect! & thank you to Jylen & Liam

Perfect bike computer! Easy to read, durable, good battery life, connects to all sensors. Was in a pickle because I forgot my bike computer for a big race … Jylen & Liam went the extra mile to dig up the last model that matched my old one & get me race ready at the last minute! Great, well organized clean store, would shop again!

Not accurate with e-Bike

I found the Wahoo Elemnt Roam v2, connected to the Fazua 60 e-drive on my Santa Cruz Skitch, to display significantly different speed and distance than my Apple Watch. The difference was 0.8 miles on a 19 mile ride. Wahoo responded to my inquiry by saying they adjust the Wahoo GPS speed / distance by the speed data provided by the e-bike. The Fazua 60 uses a magnet on the rear wheel which is pretty obviously much less accurate than a GPS. Total mystery why they would use magnet on the wheel data rather than GPS data, but that's what they've told me in response to two different inquiries. I want the Wahoo connected to the Skitch because the Fazua 60 provides accurate rider power data (i.e., watts into the system from the rider). I suggest buying another brand of cycle computer if you have an e-bike and want accurate speed/distance data.

GOOD DEVICE, BUT TOO APP CENTRIC

Returned this device after set up. Overall, it's a good bike computer. My issue is, that for me, it is a tad too "phone/app centric". There are some basic things I want to be able to easily view on the device, rather than having to log into an app on a phone -- a prime example being the odometer functions. This preference would of course vary with each individual. So while I think it's a good product overall, I bought the Garmin 540 instead, which is less dependent on external apps.
