Did I buy the Children's Version
I have to admit I am all legs with at least a 32 inch inseam. I bought these to go over cycling shorts. They barely came up to my hips. I swear they are an XL for a child, or a young teen with no curves. They are going back pronto!
Great for curvy women!
I'm 5'1" and 125-130lbs, athletic build with a small waist and huge quads, and the medium fits PERFECT. The waist is tight enough to stay up, and the thighs stretch enough to fit comfortably. Usually with pants, the waist is too big if the thighs fit, so I would 100% recommend this to curvy women. The word curvy refers to your waist to hip ratio, it is not a euphemism for obese. The rise is a comfy 8" and hits just below the belly button. I don't want to wear ridiculous tummy tuck leggings that go up to my chest, and neither does anyone else that's 5 feet tall, so it's really nice to finally find some leggings in a low rise style. I bought multiple pairs of these and they are now my favorite spring/fall running pants. Please note PI does not use vanity sizing, so it "runs small" compared to your typical department store activewear that has been vanity sized to a point of stupidity. I'm a XS in some of the more ridiculous department store brands, and a solid medium in PI bottoms. Check the size chart on their website before you order. I hope this helps clear up any confusion about sizing and curve-friendliness.
very low waist
I'm used to bike shorts/tights being designed to actually bike in. This one I'm keeping only because I got it for over 50% off but I'm very disappointed in Pearl Izumi. I know from experience to carefully read the size chart for Pearl Izumi products. I'm an XL in every other brand, but this size chart said I'm 2XL. I was happy to get it past my knees and all the way up. But the waist barely reached past my hips even when standing still. On the model in the image, the waist appears to be at a reasonable height for biking. Maybe it's better in smaller sizes? I ended up wearing a pair of bike shorts with these tights just so I wouldn't be stopped for indecent exposure. These particular shorts were not advertised as being specifically high-waisted and I would have considered them to be low/average waist. The shorts' waistline was a good 2.5 inches higher up than the tights.
Great lightweight unpadded tights
These tights are just what I have been looking for. I wanted a lightweight tight for those days when it is too cool for just shorts and too warm for heavy tights. And I wanted tights that did not have a padded seat as I like to wear them over regular bike shorts so I can remove them when it gets warmer out. These tights tick off all my requirements. Having said that, IMHO, they do run small.
Meant for indoor cycling
I guess I didn't read the description very well, these are meant for indoor cycling so are very thin. I was looking for a Fall/Spring outdoor layer.
Sizing is way off! Size up!
I bike 3 times a week and was looking for another pair of cycling tights to go over my shorts for the ride into work. The sizing is way off on these. I am 5'2" and 130. I happen to have an old pair of cycling tights from my pre baby days and these Mediums are SMALLER than the Small I have. Same brand just designed way too small. If you plan to get this definitely need to size up. I will be exchanging these for a large since I used my coupon and rewards towards this purchase.
Great light weight bike pants
These are comfortable and fit well, size up if there is any question of size. Comfortable even in warmer weather.
Good fit
Love the fit but material was lighter weight than I expected. I thought they were riding tights for the colder temps. Still the fit is good.
Biking tights
Not what I expected. There is no padding so these are just a pair of leggings. I sized up to Medium at 5’2” and 118 lbs. fabric is light weight and seems breathable.
