The RC3 is a really good cross-over boot. I just got into skating this season but will continue to ski classic so I didn't want to keep track of two pairs of boots. Like my Salomon classic boots, the Fischers feature a sliding lace keeper which makes for super easy lacing, but they do tend to loosen up over the course of an outing so I find myself having to stop and tighten them. Other than this minor inconvenience, I'm very happy with the performance and versatility.
I'm a new XC skier and I wanted a pair of combi so I could try out booth skate and classic. First of all, they fit my feet great (37, I wear a 6.5-7, depending on the brand), and were super comfy and warm. I've spent hrs skiing in them and never had any complaints about them. Unfortunately, out of the box, on of the zippers didn't work very well and after about 20 uses the zipper broke. I've heard from others that this is a common problem with these Fischer boots.
This is a strong but lightweight boot, easy to get to and off that gives me good support and good response. I tried to get another pair but there was none available in my size. I have been skiing over 50 years and this was the best boot i have ever had.
