Not as nice as previous Thermo Ball jackets

I have owned a thermo ball for a few years and love it. The zipper is nice, the jacket can be turned inside out into one of the pockets (great for a pillow), and the logo is embroidered. This new one, the zipper isn't as nice, you can't turn the jacket inside out like before (well, you can, but you can't really zipper is shut), and there is no logo at all? Seems like some cheap corners to cut for a pricey jacket. I also noticed the quilts are larger as well. I'm sure the jacket is warm, just like the previous one, just some things I noticed. Not sure if i'll keep it or not. Wasn't what I was expecting.

2nd Thermoball

I purchased my 2nd Thermoball. This is a great product. Keeps you warm but also very breathable. It’s a great insulation layer if you are doing physical activity - hiking, skiing, outdoor physical activity, etc. TNF changed the fit from The last iteration of this jacket. I had to size up about a 1/2 size (obviously there are only whole sizes) due to the slimmer cut. This is a very good product. There is some talk about the zipper quality. The zippers are relatively small. Likely to eliminate weight and add to the pack ability of the jacket.

Great jacket, cheap-feeling zipper

This is my second thermoball. I would still be wearing the one I bought years ago if it weren’t for our new puppy’s exploration. This would be 5 stars if not for the new, thinner zipper that feels cheep and does not slide as well as my other thermoball.

Favorite Jacket

I bought a thermoball vest years ago in the then available camo. I wore the vest hundreds of times and it’s still great. I finally pulled the trigger on the jacket and it has the same desirable qualities. No bulk, super comfortable 3+ season comfort (N. California). Comfort range is large.

Sizes Run Small (Slim Fit)

I had the original jacket bought a couple of years ago in a "S" and it fit fine. However, the new design is advertised as "Slim Fit" and the "S" was too tight. I had to go to a "M". Other than that, an excellent 3 season jacket for Colorado!

ThermoBall is an excellent choice to purchase

I've had 2 previous North Face ThermoBall jackets. They are extremely light weight, they keep me warm in the wind and temperatures above 25 degrees with out a shell. They don't last long in rain but still do a good job providing warmth.

New cheap zipper

I loved my old thermoball. So did my puppy, so it had to be replaced after 10ish years. The new version uses a cheap, lightweight zipper that would be unfortunate but fine… if it didn’t start splitting from the bottom after a few months.
