[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These boots are great. My 2 daughter used to wear the Velcro version but have outgrown them and passed them to their younger sisters. I bought these ones for my 2 older girls because they are super stylish and comfortable. They also fit a little higher on the leg keeping snow from getting in their boots.
great for wider or high volume feet
Bought these only a week ago so I can’t speak to longjevity, but so far my kid loves them. Finding shoe or boots for a kid with high volume feet (high arch and wide feet) is frequently very difficult. We tried on every kid boot at another store and my kid said they all squeezed his feet. So we went to REI and tried on all the boots until he slid these on and declared them the ones. He liked that they are flexible enough to run in and have much better traction than the Boggs he used to wear for winter. Haven’t had them outside below 10 degrees Fahrenheit yet, but so far he says they are plenty warm.

Dry, warm, comfortable, good quality
Buy these shoes every year for our daughter. I believe this will be her 4th pair. They keep her feet warm & dry. Our temp here in the PNW doesn’t get too low (lowest around 20 degrees), so I can’t vouch for how it would do in the single digits. They fit true to size. They are a bit stiff in the ankles the 1st day of wear, but still comfy. I have the adult version & love how cozy & comfortable they are for hiking in the snow or cold rain. I buy them a half size larger than I do even my regular boots (1/2 size up for semi-thick socks, full size up for extra thick socks) to accommodate very thick & fuzzy Columbia socks (so cozy!), but our daughter doesn’t like to wear super thick socks , so I buy her regular size. These boots can withstand a lot of use without showing much wear. Each year we give away her outgrown boots & they barely look used. They are somewhat heavy, but to us they just feel stable (great ankle support & solid traction for mud & snow & cushy insoles!) & not cumbersome.

But I feel they still run slightly small because I ordered one size up and it was too small or fit like her current size. Great boot and made it even better they were on sale!!
Snug & Warm
