Perfect layering piece

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great lightweight layering piece that will work great over a short-sleeved t-shirt around the house when I'm slightly chilled, paired with a wind-proof layer on chilly days, or as one of several interchangeable layers for hikes that vary in temperature. The thin fleece inner layer is very soft and comfy, but does not create bulk, making this fit underneath my soft-shell coat perfectly. When it arrived, I tried it on right away and it was so comfy I wore it for the rest of the day! This is not a true outerwear jacket for a windy day, but works perfectly for my needs as a zip-up, lightweight layer for travel and around the house.

so-so, not worth the price even on sale

The material is a loose knit and looks like it would snag very easily. So, it wouldn’t be suitable for anything more than casual wear or running (away from brush-dense trails). The material also feels unnatural in a sort of sticky polyester manner. Finally, the cut is long and goes over your rear, and the sleeves cover the palm. I didn’t find the thumb holes to be well-designed or thought out. Overall, not worth buying even on sale. It’s a very plain jacket. Its redeeming qualities are a nice shaped slim fit, soft interior, and a flattering blue color suitable for most skin tones.

Exactly what I was looking for!

It was actually a challenge to find a jacket like this (regardless of the brand) without a bulky hood attached to it. I hate layering something under a coat or windbreaker and feeling the hood bulking up underneath. So this jacket was a winner in my book already - no bulky hood. It is also relatively lightweight and thin yet extremely warm thanks to its grid fleece pattern. It's not super form fitting yet is an elegant shape if you size it right. I'm 5'7 and 119lbs and ordered a 'Small' - good fit and great sleeve length. Will use it for hikes, camping, and crisp fall / spring walks. Due to it being so lightweight, it would also be a great layering piece for skiing.

Comfy but…

I just received my Serenity Heather colored jacket and it’s a bright lavender which is fine with me. It’s very pretty. The sleeve length is great but it does seem to be a bit snug in the chest area/upper back but loosens up around the waist. Debating if I should of ordered the XL instead of the L. It does fit but I like a bit more of a loose feeling up in the chest. I’m 5’7”; 160 lbs, 36B chest, athletic/hourglass shape. I will agree with other reviewers to size up especially if you’re in between sizes.

Nice jacket for active wear

This is a nice addition to my activity/casual wardrobe. It feels like good quality materials. It is thinner than one might expect if you’ve not had this kind of grid fleece before but is thicker than another one I own. The win for grid fleece is that the grid design allows for both warmth and breathability, in a light weight package, when active. This jacket does that well. It also offers some wind protection. My test wear was a 40 degree 3.5 mile brisk walk with 10pm winds. I wore just a basic short sleeve tee under and had to unzip a few times to release the heat. Exactly what I was looking for for. Regarding fit, it runs small and does not have much of a feminine cut. I’m hourglass (5’2 136 36B) and it’s a bit loose in the waist and tighter than I would like around the hips. I’m keeping it for the performance factor but the fit will limit use.

Lightweight but warm

I wanted the Patagonia grid fleece jacket but don't want a hood and don't want to pay the steep price. This jacket is the perfect one for my needs. It's a breathable, wicking performance garment warm enough as a mid layer in cold weather or outer wear in warmer season when I go hiking. The thumb holes are great feature. The dark blue color is beautiful. The fit is perfect - not tight and not loose. Looks great from trail to town.

Very useful and well fitting.

I like the length and weight of this jacket. I wear it around the house and out on my neighborhood trash pick up and walks in the early morning when it's chilly. I got the geranium color. It's a bright pink which is good for visibility and brightens my mood. I usually wear a small but didn't want a tight fit. It has a feminine cut.

Great jacket

Love this jacket. Lightweight but warm because of the grid fleece. I am 5'5" and ~135lbs and ordered a small. I can't layer underneath it, but it is great as a mid layer over a thin long sleeve or t shirt, which is what I wanted it for. I have only had it a couple months and find myself reaching for it every chilly day.

This is my FAVORITE sweatshirt!!

I love this sweatshirt so much! It’s advertised as a fleece but it doesn’t feel water repellent and fleecy to me (I don’t love polar fleece as it’s not absorbent so I’m glad). I bought it on a whim and it’s been the only sweatshirt I wear while hiking on several trips. It’s also my favorite sweatshirt for airplanes because the pockets zip. The thumb slots took me some getting used to but I now love them. The inside of the sweatshirt is so soft as are the insides of the zippable pockets. I love that this is full zip and I can easily unzip or tie around my waist when I’m hot and throw it back on when I’m cold. It’s not too bulky and really is my go to sweatshirt for activities like hiking. 10/10. I’m only sad that I didn’t get this in more colors. I want to have a bunch of these!! Oh I think despite some other reviews saying it runs true to size or large, I think it runs slightly small. I wear a medium top with no issues but had to get a large in this sweatshirt, and it’s snug but not uncomfortably so. Definitely size up if you have a chest.
