Sizing Notes

Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".

PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and Âľ inch shorter in total rise.

TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.

Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.

Inseam is measured to the floor.

Great for Alaska winter running

I have this in Briarsmoke which is much more purple than the brown color shown. The bottom zipper connector seems a bit weak but no issues yet. I just wish REI would offer their women’s clothes in tall/long like they do for men’s. I am 6’1, 195 and bought the XL. My spouse is 6’5 and has the men’s version in a L Tall. The tall definitely adds length over the regular. REI, please consider tall women in the future, especially since you offer tall options for men.

Excellent multi season jacket

I love this jacket and expect to get 3-season use out of it. It’s light and warm- with the back a little more breathable and the front a bit warmer. I’ve used it on cool summer nights, and could see it being really helpful in the spring and fall too. The sleeves are a tad long, with flip over mittens, which I think would be useful on colder days- sometimes I end up rolling up the sleeves otherwise. There’s a nice hidden pocket on one side. I’m 5’1” and the small fits well (minus the long sleeves). Highly recommend!

Finally.

Thank you, REI, for finally making a women’s version of something that is better than the men’s version. I buy a lot of outdoor gear, and this might be the first time I haven’t coveted the men’s version. My fiancé bought one of the men’s version and raves about it. First, I was pleasantly surprised to discover there is a women’s version, but even more excited when I discovered that the women’s version has an awesome fold-over cuff feature which keeps your hands warm when temps get chilly. I’ve run and hiked in this jacket and that feature makes it a 5-star jacket. It’s a good weight, a bit boxy, but overall a very versatile layer I’m very happy with.

Super Versatile!

This jacket is one of my top REI purchases of 2021! The fabric is light but the waffling holds in heat making it truly a multi-season jacket. I’ve worn it running in 30-60 degree weather with light rain and wind with assorted base layers and it’s been perfect. The only time I haven’t worn it is during a winter downpour. The cut is tailored but not snug which makes it work for assorted baselayers ( I’m on the larger side of my size range). The sleeves have thumb holes as well as a flip over mitten which expands your options for protection. The armpits do get smelly so this garment requires regular washing.

Runs a little large, super worth it!

Haven’t worn it running yet but I love this jacket so much! Keeps me warm when it’s cold, and stays cool when it’s warm. I love that it’s light and packable, the soft material, the sleek low profile zip pockets, the slimming form– I think this is a well thought out jacket. I’ve taken it hiking, camping, every day strolls out with the dog. The only downside is it’s too long for me personally. I’m 5’0” and the bottom covers my entire butt so it’s not super flattering and there’s so much material hanging around if I don’t have it zipped. I’ll be crossing my fingers for a petite size but you can tell from the other reviews, it’s a great jacket!

Smooth and soft jacket

This was a spontaneous purchase. Did not need it but wanted it. Glad I bought it. Love the feel of the material and the long sleeves are great for this 5'8" tall body with extra long arms. The hips fit wonderfully around my kinda curvy but athletic body. The color is tru to what you see on the screen. I wore this hiking for 4 hrs in the woods on a day about 58 degrees. The jacket breathed well, but took it off a bit later in the day when the temps came up and just wrapped around my waist. THIS IS A PERFECT JACKET and glad I spontaneously bought it. Worth the money esp since it was on sale

Great jacket for running/walking on a cool morning

I wasn’t sure about this when I pulled it out of the package…the fabric felt a little weird. I was worried it would be scratchy and I am pretty sensitive to that. I was pleasantly surprised when I put it on. It felt nice (not scratchy at all). I also didn’t think I liked the color, I thought it was a dull brown, but when I got into better light, it’s almost a plum color (pretty and goes with a lot of colors). I like the subtle venting in the back and I was able to pull the sleeves up if I got too warm. I also adore it when jackets have thumb holes and the cuff can fold over when you want to warm your hands. It fits pretty true to size, maybe slightly big. It is longer than most of my jackets so it looks great with leggings, but not with jeans (which is my only reason for not giving it 5 stars).

It meets all requirements!

This jacket is terrific! It’s warm enough for a run in 30 degree temps and lower. It’s light weight and doesn’t make noise. It’s got cuffs that fold over your hands for warmth. It’s a great color, especially for those of us who run in rural areas during hunting season. And best of all, its got zippered pockets, one of which contains a net inner pocket that holds your phone securely while you run. In other words, this jacket meets all my requirements.

A must have jacket!!!

I ordered this in both XL and L because I wasn’t sure on sizing even though the chart stated L would fit. I kept the XL as I don’t like my clothes hugging me. The large did fit but I didn’t want my problem area accentuated. I am 5’2 170 broad shoulders 36 DD -little pudge (work in progress) I tell you this so you don’t have to purchase 2 sizes to pay for a return. I love the jacket I’ve worn it hiking but not running yet. It was very comfortable and moved with ease. It hangs nicely and doesn’t bunch up. The color is a very pretty fall orange. I like the cuffs for your hands as it’s getting chillier out. The pockets are nice if you want to carry something with you. Im glad I made this purchase.
