Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Buffalo Plaid won’t you come out tonight?
When I open my closet this shirt is what I automatically gravitate towards. Is it because it already looks a little faded and feels like an old friend? Compared to last year’s design-this year’s is thinner/not as fluffy and skipped the side seam reinforcements (see photos). Maybe REI could reclassify it as “lightweight?” As you can see, neither of those changes stopped me since I was already smitten with the faded blue buffalo colors. At 5’6” and 155 lbs both the medium and large size fit me. Medium was a more tailored fit and I ultimately picked Large to layer over T-shirts or overalls. I love the convenience and cuteness of the top snap. I use it only to keep it on the hanger easy-peasy and it makes me smile. My work now allows “Flannel Fridays” so I used the Nov coupon to add this to the rotation for work and for cat dancing at home. Enjoy!
I Love This Shirt!
I thought too long about getting one of these REI Coop Wallace Lake Flannel shirts that the selection started to run low. I read many reviews and finally made my purchase, and am so glad I did! I am 5’5”, 130 lbs, and choose a size Small. I know it’s going to shrink some, so will be careful to wash in cold, tumble on low heat for only 10 minutes to release the wrinkles, and hang on a hanger to dry. I expect minimal shrinkage. Currently the shirt fits perfectly! The sleeves and body can handle a half or one inch of shrinkage and still be fine. The shirt fits perfectly. Enough room for a layer underneath, but not too baggy. I chose the Bleecker Plaid Harvest Sage because of ONE reviewer that said how pretty the colors were and she was right! The online color doesn’t do it justice, it’s a pretty teal blue and sage green - perfect for spring. I’m impressed with the quality. The fabric is soft (unlike what others have reported), seams are stitched down, there is reinforcing tape along the inside of the shirt along the pockets and the neckline (see my photo), the buttons are all secure (it comes with two spares), and the topmost button is actually a snap, very handy. I’m so glad I got one of these shirts while it was on sale!
great
I bought this shirt on sale so I like it even better. I'm 5'4, 125lbs and bought the XS, it fits well (it is not tailored, a looser fit) and is a little long on me. it is a little stiff, I hope it loosens up after I wash it. I like the fabric color a lot and would buy more
Have had for couple years, would buy again
I’ve had this shirt for a few years and I really like it. Sturdy material, hasn’t balled up or thinned anywhere yet. Fits well and looks nice so I can wear it doing stuff like camping or if I have to go into the office. I actually ended up buying another color recently. The arms are long enough that activities are not restricted which is really nice, and there’s enough room in the chest that I didn’t have an issue with the space between the buttons spreading out (larger sized chest so this is actually amazing). I would buy all the colors but I don’t really like the plaids they picked. Warmth-wise it’s as you’d expect - not an extremely thick flannel but a warm enough layer.
Used to be thick and plush
Not sure what happened to this year's line. I own a couple of these shirts from past seasons. They were soft, thick, and plush the first year REI introduced this line, exactly how flannel shirts should be. I was in the store the other day and was disappointed by how flimsy the fabric is this season. It felt more like twill than flannel. Now it's just like any other "flannel" you would find from other retailers (for a lot less). Such a shame, because the green color is really pretty, and solid color flannels for women are so hard to find.
Excellent shirt!
Bought one. Bought 3 more. Perfect fit, great shirt. The online color of Bleecker Plaid Harvest Sage absolutely does not do it justice. It is actually a beautiful blue/green plaid.
Happy trails!
I own about 6 of these shirts. I love the design...reinforced neckline and pockets and a snap at the neck. The con is the fabric has become so thin . After several washings I feel like I can see through the shirt. Now this goes for all the Wallace lake shirts I purchased. I see they're to be discontinued although last year they dropped to $35 . So beware, the fabric is not nice thick warm flannel, but a very thin material..
Nice shirt, but it's not flannel.
I have 3 of these shirts from prior years and they get a lot of wear, both on their own and layered as a light jacket. I wanted a new color and ordered the York grey plaid. I was so disappointed to find it's not flannel. No soft brushed napped surface. It's hard and smooth like a twill. Same great construction and quality, but it's not flannel, as it's advertised. Please bring the old fabric back. Would not recommend, if that's what you're looking for.
Plastic tag ruins a great shirt
First off, this is a really great shirt. However, it's ruined by the plastic tag sewn into the side. The tag is extremely scratchy and irritating. There are two problems with the tag. First, if I wanted to take it off, there’s no way to do so without taking out the seam stitching, and I don’t buy new clothing expecting do a bunch of mending before I can even use it. Cutting these tags always leaves a bit of scratchy plastic, so that’s not the best solution. Second, I don’t want to take the tag off because it holds the spare buttons for the shirt, and if I take it off, I’ll lose them. So I’m stuck. Here's a message to REI and all clothing manufacturers. Please stop sewing scratchy tags into your clothing!! If a tag is necessary, use a non-scratchy material.
Perfect for California evenings
These flannels were made for hiking in mind but I wanted something cotton, lightweight but sturdy to throw on to walk my three rowdy dogs in the evening. Already bought a few more. I reach for these flannels all the time. Fabric is densely woven, my dogs haven’t torn it so far and most of the husky fur brushes right off. It’s thinner than the thick traditional flannels and that’s why it’s perfect for California evenings which doesn’t get too cold especially when you heat up while walking. I got some sized up as dog walking outerwear and some in my regular size to incorporate into my casual outfits since they feel so nice on.
