Very well made hiking pants with lots of pockets. I ordered for travel and walking during Israel’s wet season. I ordered the wax to wax the fabric, like days of old, too. 5’7, 134#, straight/athletic build, size 36 is perfect.
These are very nice and sturdy pants. However, they were way too long on me. I feel that for such a nice and pricey pair of pants, that they should offer different inseam lengths.
I have had these pants for nearly 7 years, and these are absolutely the best field pants I have ever owned. I work in polar climates and have worn these in arctic Alaska and Antarctica. The Arctic summer is characterized by wet cold, and after applying a couple coats of Greenland wax, these easily shed sleet and mud and kept my knees dry when kneeling on tundra. In Antarctica, they stop the strong, icy wind from penetrating. I am a US size 6, and tried these in EU size 38 and 40. The 38's fit perfect, but I kept the 40's because I wanted to layer these over fleece pants. These pants do the same job that any water-resistant outer layer would do, but they are comfortable, far less bulky, and look way better.
Super hardwearing, well placed pockets that feel intuitive and also well thought out features like more belt loops so there’s no hanging leftover slack from your belt (My biggest pet peeve). The material feels very rugged yet so soft, I actually look forward to wearing it. My favourite parts about these trousers are the adjustable snaps at the bottom of the leg and the multi-tool pocket that is also an axe holder. These tools can be heavy but the way it’s placed distributes the weight well and doesn’t contact your
I recently went on a upland game hunting trip and wore these pants for 3 days straight. They held up in brambles, tule reeds, branches, etc without a scratch. We hiked in freezing temps and just with thermals under, they kept me super warm. They are all in all, really comfortable and incredibly durable (which is really hard to find in women's clothing). I had to reorder a size up because they were too tight on the thighs. Really great pant, would definitely recommend to any active hiker or hunter.
I'm a firearms instructor in Oregon so I needed pants that can provide comfort while being tough in the northwestern environment and the Vidda pros are one of my go to now both on and off the range. It's more practical wearing these during my classes because I can go from the range to going out to dinner with friends while still looking sharp! For the price of the Vidda pros you won't find a better pant on the market! A solid 5 star from me! ~Jayson B.
I have been wanting a pair of these Vidda Pro trousers for a while and finally bought a pair. I was specifically looking for pants that would be durable for long hiking and backpacking trips and have been impressed with these so far. I specifically like the pocket arrangement and the reinforcement on the seat and knees. My only complaint would be that there was no option to get a shorter length. My are a bit too long but otherwise fit well.
Bought almost a year ago and they are great! Extremely durable and comfortable. I wear these walking in the bush, gathering firewood in the woods, etc and I am so glad I made the purchase! Expensive but they will quickly become your favorite pair of trousers! I wore these on a week long kayak trip when the mosquitos were unbelievable, and didn't get bit wearing these. Literally tons of mosquitoes holding onto the pants for dear life in a windstorm, so I am more than pleased about that! My only con. is that it is a little tight to get them over your hips (I'm not a curvy girl). Due to the lack of stretch it is also hard to fit a base layer underneath as the weather starts to turn. I am going to try the keb style next to see if the stretch will help (but probably won't be as much of a defense against mosquitoes). All in all, great product! Thank you Fjallraven for quality!!!
All in all a great pant, love the material, the pockets and the durability (and warmth) for any activity at any time! The only downfall for me, as a lady with a narrow waist and wide hips, is the fit - I had to size up 2 sizes so my bum and thighs would have a nice loose fit. Unfortunately, the sizing up created some difficulty with too much slack around the waist - the only frusturation!
I’ve been wearing Vidda Pro Trousers for 3 yrs and I love them more each year I wear them! They’re so worn in and all the manufacturing pieces on it still work perfectly. It has so many pockets too! I wax them 3-4 times a year to keep up with the water resistance. Wind proof canvas is a must when winter hiking and these work the best for me!
