Great w/room to improve

I give it 4 stars because it was delicious, this was a really good vegetarian option, and I did repurchase; however, the amount of water required is a bit off and I had to let it sit longer than instructed to get all of the pasta rehydrated. Overall it was worth it, and I purchased more items by this brand to try.

Best Vegetarian Backpacking Meal

I've been backpacking for 20 years and this is the BEST vegetarian meal I have had. Love pesto and this hit the spot. Yes, the seal wasn't great, but not a huge deal. I actually liked that it was not as deep packaging, because much easy to eat than the standard deep pouch. And, I always add less water than stated, then add more if not perfect. I hate soupy food. Almost all manufacturers indicate to add more water than necessary.

Lacking flavor.

I hiked this meal up to base camp and was looking forward to it all day during our route only to be disappointed. The meal had no flavor. The pesto taste was there on the back end but you were basically eating a plain noodle with the slight taste of parm. I even packed in hot pepper flakes and garlic powder and it didn’t do much. Just like peak meals- no flavor. I’ll try another from this brand and that’s it.

Good flavor, but very soupy

The flavor was good, but if I were to make it again, I would definitely go with less water than suggested, as it ended up very soupy and messy.

Package awful, flavor great

It is so unfortunate that this great tasting product is in such a poor quality package. I do NOT recommend it for backpacking or anyplace it would be a problem for it to seep or spill. There is one flimsy zip seal that is filled with the powder from the product. Too delicate. Put it in a different bag if you're going out. Ok for car camping I imagine.

Not the best

Had this meal for dinner camping this past week. Wasn’t the biggest fan. It was good enough to eat, but the pesto was extremely over bearing and almost tasted too salty. Didn’t mind for the plenty of hemp seeds they had in there but my partner didn’t really like them that much at all. We both like pesto but this meal was a miss for us!

I've had better

It's passable. I added some cheap grated parmesan i keep with the camping stuff, and that made it so I could eat it alright. I wouldn't call this good by any stretch of the imagination. But you'll be able to eat it if you are hungry. If you eat chicken, try peak refuel pesto pasta with chicken. It's much better.

i dont know what other people are complaining about. there are few add-water pastas which are this good. i threw in some nutritional yeast, black pepper and a bit more garlic. those two servings lasted me two meals.

flavor not so great

The flavor was not so great. My son thought it was gross but I thought eh it’s edible. I think it would be better if maybe add some chicken. My dog didn’t like it either. I wouldn’t buy it again.

Meh. There are better meals out there.

This is just meh. I might have let it sit too long because the noodles turned to mush. I was hoping the flavor would be good but it was kind of bland. I would definitely not buy again.
