Gummy noodles, needs salt
Y’all I love chili mac at home and on the trail. This was not it. It’s got some spice, but needs a ton of salt. The main flavors were sweet (like a sun dried tomato) and bell pepper. Somehow the noodles were gummy. Get mountain house chili mac instead
Needs salt, but otherwise fantastic!
This meal is really tasty, with one big caveat: it badly needs salt. But, bring your own salt and it slaps! I buy this one again and again.
Safe Choice
This one is great! Hamburger meat is tasty, makes a good frito pie!
Get Another Brand
I’m a veteran and spent years eating chili Mac MREs, I can say with confidence this ain’t it. The directions are woefully wrong, do not add one full cup of water, that’s way too much. The noodles were turning to mush by the time the beans were reconstituted, and better hope you brought a full salt shaker. There are better dehydrated brands that offer chili Mac and only a couple more dollars, don’t waste your money now to be disappointed on the trail later.
The spice and flavor was perfect
The spices and flavors were perfect but I wasn't the biggest fan of the noodle texture. The mac was too mushy when given the exact amount of cook time and water recommended. I would eat this again but it won't become a trip favorite or the first pick. It will go in my pack a back up meal.
Surprisingly very good
This was actually fantastic! Have used this one a few times, it's a classic
