I love it

I bought this to be carried in the pocket of the Solomon pulse belt. It comes with a strap for your hand which I removed. I read a review that said it has a plastic taste so I washed with warm soapy water a few times and it seems fine to me. I like that it has a solid base so it stands up in its own which makes filling it with whatever you need very easy. The lid has a nice feature where it can close fully so liquid doesn’t spill out. It’s actually so air tight that when you finish the liquid the entire bottle collapses down very small.

The best I've used!

I've never really liked hand bottles but I like the idea. I grabbed this one on a whim a few weeks ago from @salomonvancouver and I've got to say, it's one of my new favourite additions of 2020. It's a 500 ml soft flask with an easy to adjust velcro handle. Why didn't I like hand bottles? It's that I found them clunky, bulky, and hard to open/close. This one is the complete opposite. A super comfortable soft body that fits nicely in my hand and the velcro strap with the thumb hole is endlessly comfortable. The cap has a locking function so no slow leaking. As the bottle gets lighter it tucks away into the palm of my hand giving me full use of my fingers. I love this! So 10/10 for this little gem. Highly recommend.

Best hand held!

This is the 3rd Salomon hand held version I have purchased and it is my favorite! You can purchase more bottles to fit the strap as well, and i high recommend grabbing a couple of they are in stock! I take this in a majority of my runs!

Awful plastic taste for an overpriced bottle

On the surface, there's a lot that I like about this bottle: it's collapsible which means no sloshing, it's easily packable after use, the velcro strap is nice, the twisting shut-off cap is great, the .5L size is great and not too heavy when full. BUT when the plastic-y taste is so awful you don't even want to drink the water, that defeats any positive this bottle offers. Yes, I've been trying all the things you should do to remove the taste. But for $30 for an individual hand held bottle, should I really have to go to all that trouble?

Unlocking the lock seems impossible

I know I am being a bit hard with the 1 star rating but given the bottle hasn't served the purpose it was bought for and now sits at home, I think the 1 star rating is justified. I'd also like to add that it seems to be a running theme with the 1 stars and I too contribute to it: the bottle I have is literally impossible to unlock when one's running. It requires way too much effort and has even scratched my nails in my attempts to twist it. I ended up just twisting open the cap and drinking directly from the bottle's opening. Obviously, that does away with the convenience of carrying a bottle with a nozzle. Now, I've given up on this one and it lies at home. It is a pity though, I did have high hopes for it and was very happy when I purchased it.

Excellent product

I combined this with the XA Filter cap to use on longer runs. I am very happy with the outcome. I usually cross streams on my runs along the rim of Lake Superior so having a handheld that I could dip into the pools for a refill has changed my behavior. I can head out on a long run and refill along the way. And a collapsible handheld means I can keep it stashed until needed. Using it in a COVID precaution race with minimal feeds this Spring was great. It is the best hydration solution I’ve used in 20+ years of trail marathons.

Good idea but poor design!

I bought this product over a month ago because I liked the minimalist and collapsable design. However, like many other reviews I have noticed the cover leaks. This appears to be from the open/close twist feature of the cover that doesn't have any sort of sealing ring inside. I have looked to purchase a replacement cover that doesn't have the open/close feature with no luck. I really want to like this product but the leaking design flaw is disappointing.

First of for me

I recently started doing longer trail runs and decided I’d actually like some water to sip on. I typically run less than 5-6 miles on runs so I never needed to carry water. Now, I’m really enjoying a bit farther with how this fits into your palm and takes no effort to hold. It kind of just confirms to your palm and is very easy to drink from and you can actually get every last drop out easily.

Good Minimalist Design

Pretty happy with this water bottle. Have taken it on a few outdoor runs and the strap works fine. These flexible bladders are easier to draw water from than more rigid water bottles. It becomes a little more onerous to maintain a tight grip on the bladder as it empties, but it’s a minor inconvenience. I use this bottle regularly for treadmill and indoor cycling rides without the handle.

Terrific running handheld bottle

I purchased the active handheld bottle about a month ago. As an older runner, I find that I need to drink more while I run. Especially with temps above 75. I wanted something light and minimalistic with a volume that would get me through 60 min/6 miles. This bottle does that. I love it. Its comfortable to hold, no sloshing, perfect volume, cleanable.
