Perfect for San Francisco Waters
I got this wetsuit to surf in san francisco - when I first put it on I was freaked out by how tight it was, but it got much stretchier after just 2-3 wears. I've never owned a wetsuit before so I wasn't sure what to expect. Just writing this review for anybody worried that theirs is too small, I would say this fits perfectly true to the size chart. Only rating this 4 stars because the hand and foot entries are small and make it kind of challenging to get on and off, but the added benefit is that it keeps you really warm. Even when I fall off my board I don't get totally flushed. Would recommend Final thought though, why is nobody making a wetsuit with the kneepad material in the shoulders so it's easier to paddle?
Fits perfect, thanks to reviews -- size up!
I am always SO hesitant to buy online for fear of issues with fitting. I tried on a size 10 wetsuit previously that fit well (different brand), but since folks said they ran small I went for size 12. Fits like a glove! Had a comfy, warm first surf in it too; late May in Southern California (high 50's/low 60's Fahrenheit). Can't speak to durability yet, only have used once. Included my measurements below: height: 5' 6" waist: 28" hips: 41.5" chest: 33" Hope this can help someone!
Warm all winter
I’ve had 4 Roxy synchro 4/3 wetsuits for surfing in Southern California. The sizing is a lot smaller than it used to be. I’m 5’ 6” and about 130 lbs with runners quads and calves. The size 10 used to fit loose in the middle and I probably could have sized down. With the new sizing the 10 fits like second skin and eventually stretches out but I could probably go up a size. Even when fitting looser, this suitkeeps me warm all winter in sub 60 degree F water because the cuffs seal very well. I mostly surf in Southern California but I’ve also warn it in San Francisco waters without freezing (in august which is basically winter). This suits lasts me a little less than a year (about 9 months) when surfing 2-3 times a week. I use it in the summer too when it starts to thin out and get holes. Another plus is the back liner creates a pouch that I can keep my Tesla key card in while surfing
design flaw
Definitely an abundance of stretch in the material but the major flaw in the design is that the zipper stops right at bra line (in most cases the widest part of your part) and was incredibly difficult to get into and to get it off. I am 5’8, 138, and am right in line with measurements for a 10 with narrow shoulders and it still felt tight in the chest / shoulder area. Torso and legs felt good in addition to the size around the neck - would be restrictive while paddling or swimming.
