Nice fit but all the same Camelbak issues

I love the women’s fit of this pack. It’s lightweight and does not heat up my back even in high Texas temperatures. The color is nice too. The storage pockets are great and I love the inside zipper pocket. It’s a little difficult to access but is a secure spot for keys and other small items you don’t need while riding. The biggest negatives are the exact same negatives as every other Camelbak I have owned: no waist strap, no front pockets and leaking bladder. There are so many other hydration packs on the market capable of getting these 3 basics right. Why can’t Camelbak figure this out? The leaking bladder is the deal breaker for me.

The pack is a nice size and a nice color (matches my mountain bike color exactly). I can fit a fair number of items in it for mt biking, or even hiking with my dog and carrying his collapsable water bowl. But that is the extent of the good features. The straps are not comfortable with some kind of hard piping that makes them very stiff, which dig into my armpit area, no matter how loose or tight I adjust. The hose is only held in place by one clip and the end hose bounces terribly while riding. A big pet peeve of mine. The ends of the adjustable straps are very long and there does not seem to be a spot to tuck them or clip them up, so they just flap in the wind, looking ridiculous. Maybe someone smarter than me knows how to fix this. The bladder has a big round twist-off opening with a large plastic handle which is not easy or convenient to empty or refill. And is just so much unnecessary heaviness in an athletic pack. The top-loading bladders with the small clip to hold them closed are far, far superior. While the pack can fit a number of items, none of it is accessible while the pack is on and requires full removal of the pack to grab anything out of it. And on a final note, whilst writing this review, I had the pack sitting next to me on the table and unbeknownst to me, the pack was leaking water all over the table due to the big round twist top being slightly twisted incorrectly. Not an easy twist on/off lid. Camelback, please change up your bladder design! .

It's just okay

I planned to use this pack for mountain biking. While it fits great and I hardly notice it when riding, I would like it to be larger (maybe 9 L). Once I throw a spare tube, CO2/ a pump, tire levers, snacks, and fill the water bladder, there's little room for an extra layer. For longer rides in the California heat, I would even prefer a larger bladder! I do wish Camelback would add a magnet for the hose attachment, so the bite value isn't flapping around when you ride. If you're looking for a mountain bike hydration pack, I would look elsewhere, but I have found this works well for short hikes.

Perfect for shorter hikes

My biggest annoyance when hiking is my water bottles, I hate carrying them or having them in my pack that I constantly have to grab. I hike a lot especially in hot southern weather so I drink a ton of water. I think this pack is great for hikes no more than 5 miles total. I've noticed I start to run low around the 4.5 mile mark. It will fit a couple snacks and important items but it is fairly small in size.

Camelbak

Great camelbak pack for light day hikes. It is light weight, sturdy to keep the water reservoir in, no spillage, and snug fit. The extra pockets on the outside of the pack is just what’s need for extras like keys, wallet, sunblock, snack, etc. wish the the pack was slightly bigger to accommodate more pockets for more snacks!

Very versatile!

I was looking forward to trying this hydration pack out while riding my bike because due to some wonky geometry, I can only fit a small water bottle on the frame and even with then it doesn't come in and out of the holder easily. This solved that problem! This is just the right size for a decent ride and it's comfortable enough that I wear it even on shorter rides to run errands because it does double-duty holding my wallet, phone and glasses so I don't need to take a purse or worry about that stuff bouncing around in my pannier bags. It has both a zippered compartment for the few things you want to keep secure and an outside pouch that can be used to hold other small flat items - like some mail, a snack or your face mask. It's also good for short hikes when you don't need to carry a larger pack with more stuff.

I have every brand of smaller hydration bag. This fits the best. Perfect size. Room for snacks etc. but it leaks. Like fit so much so use other bag inside.

This is great for long distance bike tours or also just when riding around the city. Super easy to fill and comfortably adjustable.
