Women Rejoice! A Cute and Functional Vest
Such a handy and versatile vest - not to mention incredibly well made! I've taken her out on a few rides, runs, and even out for a day on the slopes boarding and I've been loving it. First, the women's fit is great, and I can actually tell a difference from unisex - which is not always the case for products marketed as women specific. The contoured fit makes this actually look cute! Plenty of points of adjustment to get things just where you like them and keep them there. Also pockets galore! I'll bring my phone, keys, wallet, fill the water bladder and still have plenty of other space if needed. Finally, the materials feel high quality and the entire vest feels well-constructed. The mesh lining is soft but breathable. Obviously, a bit pricy, but as they say, buy it nice or buy it twice! I get the feeling this thing will be lasting me for years to come.
Not great for larger chested persons
I’m a 5’8” female at 175lbs who wears a size medium with a bra size of 34DD-34DDD. My first use of this bag was on a run where I was wearing a sports bra, a long sleeve shirt, and a fitted running jacket. It was very challenging to get the pack to stay in place. I had to really cinch the straps down pretty hard which was a bit uncomfortable in the shoulders and across my chest. I had the chest straps at the maximum distance so one set at the very top and one at the very bottom of the adjustment area and that was not wide enough to go around my breasts so the straps still sat over the bottom and the top of my breasts when they were tightened for a fit that reduced movement of the pack when jogging or sprinting. After about 5 minutes of a steady run the pack needed to be tightened but then it stayed in place. I also tried taking off the jacket for a better fit and that had no impact. The second time I wore this pack, as pictured, was just on a day walk when it was pretty cold and windy out. I was wearing a sports bra, a long sleeve shirt, a sweater shirt, and a two layer jacket where the base layer was insulated and the top was a waterproof gortex lining. Because I was only walking it was easy to fit the pack so that it didn’t move around but it still had the same problem of going over top of my breasts instead of above and below them for the chest straps. Overall I won’t use this pack for running. It’s just too uncomfortable over my breasts and it move around too much to not have the chest straps attached. As a light day pack this bag is great. It has enough space for a half day walk with a meal or snack and it held my wallet and car keys as well. I couldn’t easily fit a 1L water bottle in it and I also couldn’t put anything wider than about 3.5” because there just wasn’t enough outward space when the water bladder was full. The nozzle hooks for the water bladder were great and seemed quite durable, I accidentally fell over and they survived me landing chest down on a rock with the hose not in the hooks. The pack also didn’t catch on any of my clothing material.
Best race fit hydration backpack!
This pack was perfect for my 50 mile mtb race in the mountains. I wore it for 7 hours straight and was comfortable the whole time. I was able to fit all of my snacks, energy gels and emergency tools. The ease of drinking from this versus a traditional cycling bottle is astounding! I have a tough time navigating off road trails while riding and this pack allows me to stay hydrated and not crash while doing so!
Perfect size
I just wore this vest for a marathon where I couldn’t rely on the aide stations for fueling. It worked perfectly for my needs. Minimal bouncing and perfect amount of storage for my gels and chews and my phone and keys. 4 stars because I don’t care for the camelback hydration bladder. It’s got the huge circular screw cap on the side of the bladder. I inserted a HydraPak in there and it worked great.
chafes the arms
Was hoping to be able to be a bit more active with my hydration while out, but it chafed my arms if i wasn’t wearing a long sleeve
I was happy with this backpack until one of the zippers broke on a front pocket after 1 month. I am returning it and ordering a replacement.
