HiBar Moisturize Conditioner
I’ve been searching for a product that is low waste and doesn’t come in plastic. I paired this conditioner with the Maintain Shampoo. I used it one time so far, but already love it! The bar itself is smaller than I anticipated, but a little bit goes a long way. I don’t wash my hair daily, 2-3 times a week. I foresee it lasting atleast 1.5-2 months. But won’t know for sure. I’ve used the shampoo for a few more washings, and the same seems to be true about the conditioner: it works best when your hair has some water in it. I rub the bar into my hair and then dip under the shower head, remove and massage, then rinse. My hair is fine and thin and the combo seems to do the job, leaving my hair with a shine and feeling soft. It also is noticeably less frizzy, after a single use!! Also, my water type is hard which isn’t the best and tends to leave my hair really dry! So far no issues and only love for this product!
Exited About HiBAR
I switched to HiBAR earlier this year when I was looking for biodegradable hair care products with eco-conscious packaging that are made in the USA (made in Minnesota). I was so excited to find it on the shelf at REI for even cheaper than buying it from HiBAR’s website! I have really long hair (down to my waist) and was skeptical that a solid shampoo and conditioner could ever work with my hair, but it works great and makes my hair super soft. It smells really nice. I’m a backpacker, and I also love that I can cut off a small slice, put it in a ziplock, and have a few uses of my own shampoo and conditioner for when I get to a shower for only about half an ounce of weight in my pack.
Conditioner bar works
Packaged in paper, I bought both the shampoo and conditioner. Shampoo bar is light color and conditioner is the darker color which is important to remember since there's no other way to tell them apart. My first time using a shampoo bar, cleaned my hair as effectively as liquid shampoo without much lather. I rubbed it directly to my head over the hair, scrubbed with my hands and rinsed like normal. Then I rubbed this conditioner bar over my head in similar fashion. Hair is clean and soft. This will be great to take camping and not worry about spilling in my bag like bottles in the past
The next level bar..
I love this alternative to the traditional shampoo/conditioner packaging. So simple, easy to use and overall just pretty.
Great for Afro curly hair
I brought this on a deployment because I didn’t want to lug around plastic bottles that might leak. This was perfect. I ended up using the entire surface area because the smaller end wasn’t enough. I have frizzy curly African American hair and this product was plenty moisturizing enough to detangle and keep it smooth.
Long-lasting and works really well!
I've used this solid conditioner for a few months and it's great. I have hardly any split ends and my hair is soft without being weighed down. It's easy to use - just rub the slanted side directly onto your hair and lather a bit. It smells good but not overpowering, doesn't disintegrate in the shower, and the eco-friendly packaging is perfect. I love that it is made in the USA with no plastic, and I can pick it up at my local REI store without wasting money or resources to have it shipped. I'm trying the Maintain Shampoo bar next!
I'm a convert!
I had been thinking about trying a bar conditioner for a while but was skeptical that it would really work for me. So far I've been really happy with this one, my hair feels the same as it does with regular conditioner. It does take a little longer to get the conditioner all over my hair but I think worth it to make the switch from plastic packaging. I wish REI sold the shampoo/conditioner holder Hibar makes because the bar does always slide off the edge of my tub, but that's really a tub problem, not a problem with this product! I don't feel like it is disappearing quickly either, tough to compare $ for $ for a bottle of regular shampoo but I do feel like I'm getting plenty of washes out of it. I've switched to this for my regular, every day conditioner.
Great as a detangler
I have thin stranded curly hair and I love using this in the shower as a detangler. It smells lovely and is quite easy to use, and has lasted almost a year. I still have half a bar left!
Great Conditioner
I have used this shampoo and conditioner a few times now and it works well for me. It has a nice smell and is not super strong. I have hair that tends to be drier at the ends and so far HiBAR's shampoo and conditioner keeps it feeling soft. I also tend to have sensitivities to some hair products that cause my head to be very itchy afterwards, but I have not had that problem with the HiBAR moisture shampoo or conditioner.
